We strive to attract and retain associates who value excellence, accountability, collaboration, safety, practical problem-solving, and continuous improvement.Primary Job ScopeThe Facilities Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, cost-effective operation and upkeep of Stickley's facilities, grounds, building systems, utilities, and related infrastructure. This role manages day-to-day facility maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, vendor and contractor coordination, building repairs, safety and compliance support, space planning, capital improvement projects, and emergency response readiness. The Facilities Manager partners closely with Manufacturing, Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Retail, Distribution, Security, and outside service providers to ensure Stickley facilities support productive operations, protect associates and visitors, preserve company assets, and reflect the quality and heritage of the Stickley brand.Primary Major Areas of ResponsibilityFacilities Operations and Maintenance: Oversee daily facility maintenance, repairs, inspections, work orders, and service requests across assigned Stickley locations, with priority on safe and uninterrupted manufacturing, distribution, office, showroom, and visitor operations.Building Systems and Utilities: Manage the reliability and upkeep of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, lighting, fire protection, security systems, roofs, doors, docks, grounds, parking areas, and related infrastructure.Preventive Maintenance and Asset Management: Develop, schedule, and monitor preventive maintenance programs for critical building systems and facility assets; maintain accurate records, equipment lists, service histories, warranties, and vendor documentation.Safety, Compliance, and Risk Reduction: Support OSHA, fire/life safety, environmental, security, insurance, and company policy requirements by coordinating inspections, corrective actions, training support, emergency preparedness, and facility-related safety improvements.Vendor, Contractor, and Service Management: Source, schedule, supervise, and evaluate outside contractors, service providers, property managers, and vendors to ensure quality work, safe practices, cost control, and timely completion of assigned work.Capital Projects and Facility Improvements: Assist in developing scopes of work, budgets, timelines, bid packages, and implementation plans for facility upgrades, repairs, renovations, energy-efficiency initiatives, safety projects, and other capital improvements.Budgeting, Purchasing, and Cost Control: Prepare cost estimates, obtain quotes, manage purchase requests, review invoices, monitor facility spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and coordinate with Finance on accruals, budgets, and capital planning.Space Planning and Facility Readiness: Support layout changes, equipment moves, office/showroom/warehouse needs, housekeeping standards, grounds appearance, visitor readiness, and facility conditions that reinforce Stickley's brand and operating needs.Emergency Response and Business Continuity: Coordinate facility response to storms, utility interruptions, equipment failures, water events, security issues, and other emergency conditions; support disaster recovery planning and post-event corrective actions.Cross-Functional Communication: Serve as a practical, responsive facilities partner to plant leadership, department managers, associates, and outside partners by communicating priorities, timelines, disruptions, risks, and completion status clearly and proactively.Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring facility issues, improve maintenance processes, standardize service routines, use data and observation to prioritize work, and recommend practical improvements that reduce downtime, improve safety, and extend asset life.Other Duties: Perform other related duties, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned by management.Key QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of progressive experience in facilities management, plant maintenance, building operations, construction coordination, or a related field; manufacturing experience strongly preferred.Working knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, contractor management, facility safety practices, and repair planning.Experience supporting manufacturing, warehouse, showroom, office, or multi-site environments preferred.Ability to read and interpret service reports, vendor proposals, maintenance records, drawings, equipment manuals, safety procedures, and basic project documentation.Strong organizational, communication, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.Ability to balance urgent repairs with planned maintenance, budget discipline, and long-term facility needsfortable working hands-on when needed while also managing outside vendors and internal priorities.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to use work order, maintenance tracking, purchasing, or facilities management systems.Valid driver's license and ability to travel between assigned company locations as needed.Preferred QualificationsTechnical degree, trade certification, facilities management certification, engineering background, or equivalent practical experience.Experience with OSHA, fire/life safety, environmental, security, insurance inspection, emergency preparedness, or energy-efficiency programs.Experience managing capital projects, building renovations, equipment moves, or major repair projects in an active operating environment.Knowledge of woodworking, furniture manufacturing, finishing operations, dust collection, compressed air, material handling, or similar industrial systems is a plus.Leadership and Behavioral ExpectationsDemonstrates ownership, urgency, and accountability for facility conditions and service responsemunicates clearly and professionally with associates, managers, vendors, contractors, and leadership.Maintains a strong safety mindset and takes practical action to reduce risk.Uses sound judgment when prioritizing work, escalating issues, and committing company resources.Protects confidential company information, property information, pricing, bids, and vendor relationships.Represents Stickley with professionalism, integrity, respect, and pride in the company's heritage and brand reputation.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs or ladders, access production and mechanical areas, work in manufacturing and warehouse environments, and occasionally lift or move materials consistent with business needs and safety practices.
