Gpac is working with a well-established, rapidly growing National Company (meat processing) that is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager in the Jackson area of Mississippi.
In this role you wouldsupport a high-volume, fast-paced production environment. This leader will drive equipment reliability, support continuous improvement, and guide a skilled maintenance team across fabrication and further-processing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and mentor a multi-skilled maintenance team across all production shifts
- Oversee daily maintenance operations, troubleshooting, PM programs, and work order execution
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, HACCP, ammonia/refrigeration regulations, and plant safety programs
- Manage maintenance budget, parts inventory, and contractor relationships
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and QA to maximize uptime and support production goals
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, extend equipment life, and improve plant performance
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and future facility enhancements
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of maintenance leadership in meat or food processing (protein experience strongly preferred)
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and industrial troubleshooting background
- Experience with refrigeration (ammonia), packaging equipment, conveyors, and processing machinery
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage KPIs, and build a culture of accountability
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, safety programs, and maintenance best practices
