Job Summary Release Engineer (Conoco Phillips, Houston, TX)

- Role: Release Engineer (Analytics Cloud Services)
- Location: Houston, TX (Onsite, Mon Fri)
- Contract: 12+ months
- Rate: $60/hr (W2 or C2C)
- Start Date: As early as next week
- Reports To: Supervisor, Analytics Cloud Services
- Certification Required: AZ-104 Azure Administrator Associate or AWS equivalent

Summary of Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines with security and quality gates.
- Provision, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure using IaC tools (Terraform).
- Execute and govern releases for cloud services, ensuring security compliance and documentation.
- Monitor and optimize pipeline performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Implement blue-green or canary deployments for critical applications.
- Ensure infrastructure consistency and prevent environment drift.
- Collaborate with development, QA, operations, and security teams for smooth release cycles.
- Communicate release status, issues, and improvements to stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to global cloud architecture initiatives (for senior/lead level).
- Propose and implement innovative solutions to improve release processes.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS), CI/CD, and Terraform.
- Proficiency in git workflows, programming concepts, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience level ranges from 0 2 years (junior), 2 5 years (mid), to 5+ years (senior/lead) in cloud deployment/release engineering.
