MANAGER, LOAN & TRADE FINANCE OPERATIONS

Job description:

Global wholesale/corporate banking institution(headquartered in Singapore) is seeking to hire a MANAGER, LOAN & TRADE FINANCE OPERATIONS for the midtown Manhattan office.

This role is FULLY IN THE OFFICE/NO HYBRID OR REMOTE WORK!!!

MANAGER, LOAN & TRADE FINANCE OPERATIONSLoan and Trade Finance Operations provide back-office loans processing for corporate & financial
institutional customers covering bilateral and syndication loans.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of
loan transactions, including loan disbursements, rollovers, fee and interest collections, billings, loan
servicing, funding activities, account reconciliations, and audit confirmations. The role also involves
managing incoming and outgoing funds related to loan transactions while ensuring compliance with
internal policies, regulatory requirements, and established control procedures.
Candidates with knowledge and experience in trade finance products and operations, including Letters
of Credit, Performance Guarantees, Standby Letters of Credit and Receivables Purchase Financing will
have an added advantage.
You will be expected to be involved in the process improvements project initiatives and other
operational risk related activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:1. LOAN OPERATIONS

Verify loan account opening request against banks credit terms, prepare loan details (loan
amount, interest rate, tenure, repayment terms) instruction and scan it to the back-office
processing centre for account setup in the loan system.
Process loan drawdowns / disbursements upon receiving instructions from Credit
Administration & Control that all conditions precedent have been complied with.
Coordinate with treasury for rate fixing and funding.
Coordinate with Branch Operations for receipt and/or outgoing funds.
Monitor and process interest payments, principal repayments and fee collections. Ensure
payments are accurate and on schedule.
Handle any early repayments or loan restructuring.
Conduct investigation arises from incorrect postings, payment mismatches or errors in
processing and resolve operational problems quickly.
Handle loan maintenance due to interest rate revision, tenor extension and amendment to
credit terms. Maintain accurate and up-to-date loan records.

2. TRADE FINANCE OPERATIONS Process issuance of Letters of Credit, Performance Guarantees, Standby Letters of Credit, and
related amendments.
Process Receivables Purchase Financing facility, support trade loan drawdowns, repayments,
and rollovers.
Review trade documents for completeness and compliance.
Verify customer instructions and ensure proper authorization.
Conduct transaction checks in accordance with operating procedures and control requirements.
Ensure compliance with UCP 600, URDG, ISP98, ICC rules, and applicable regulations.
Perform AML, sanctions, and KYC-related checks, where required.
Coordinate with Compliance, Legal, Business Unit, back-office processing centre on
transaction matters.

3. GENERAL
Strict adherence to internal policies, controls, regulatory guidelines and standard operating
procedures.
Identify potential risk or compliance issues.
Ensure transactions are processed within agreed service levels and cut-off times.
Maintain accurate transaction records and documentation.
Prepare management reports, MIS, and regulatory reports as required.
Support system testing, process improvements, and project implementation initiatives.
Participate in contingency planning and business continuity activities.
Handle audit confirmation and other ad-hoc projects.
Review current processes, identify areas for improvements to eliminate redundancy processes,
increase efficiency and minimize errors.
QUALIFICATIONS:1. Bachelors degree in banking and finance, accounting, business administration or relateddiscipline.2. Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in Loan Operations and preferably in Trade FinanceOperations within a wholesale or corporate banking environment handling bilateral and syndicationloans.3. Good understanding of loan life cycle, loan (especially construction and project financing) andtrade finance products.4. Sound knowledge of Trade Finance products and ICC rules, including UCP 600, ISP98, URDG758, and ISBP would be an advantage.5. Meticulous and attention to details as loan operations involve high accuracy work in interest ratescalculations, maintaining repayment schedules and generating billing notices.6. Strong data validation and reconciliation skills. Ability to identify errors, discrepancies or red flagsand resolve operational exceptions quickly.7. Equipped with strong risk control mindset, understand audit requirements and strict adherence toStandard Operating Procedures, policies, procedures and guidelines.8. Capable of working independently, adaptable to fast-changing environments, and equipped withstrong communication, interpersonal, teamwork and organizational skills.

758, and ISBP would be an advantage.

calculations, maintaining repayment schedules and generating billing notices.
6. Strong data validation and reconciliation skills. Ability to identify errors, discrepancies or red flags
and resolve operational exceptions quickly.
7. Equipped with strong risk control mindset, understand audit requirements and strict adherence to
Standard Operating Procedures, policies, procedures and guidelines.
8. Capable of working independently, adaptable to fast-changing environments, and equipped with
strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork and organizational skills.
