Job Title: LPN – School Nurse
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Type: Contract
Shift & Schedule: Days | Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM | 40 Hours Per Week
Pay: $38/hr - $42/hr (Based on Experience)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to provide healthcare support to students ages 4–22 within a Special Education setting.
Responsibilities
Evaluate and monitor student healthcare needs.
Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
Administer medications and document administration and adverse effects.
Provide health, hygiene, and wellness education.
Conduct routine health surveys and screenings.
Communicate student health information with parents/guardians and school staff.
Respond to emergencies, accidents, and injuries.
Provide nursing care to students with disabilities and special healthcare needs.
Perform physical health assessments and monitor changes in condition.
Collaborate with school staff, parents, healthcare providers, and other professionals.
Maintain compliance with school policies and applicable regulations.
Use appropriate PPE and safety procedures.
Support communication with deaf or hearing-impaired students as needed.
Required Qualifications
Active Arizona LPN/LVN license.
Completion of a physical assessment skills course.
Eligible for Arizona School Nurse Certification.
Current CPR certification.
Knowledge of healthcare needs for children ages 4–22.
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of children with disabilities and special healthcare needs.
Ability to perform physical assessments and respond to injuries and emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications
3 years of nursing experience.
Pediatric nursing experience.
Urgent care nursing experience.
Experience working with children with special healthcare needs.
Sports injury and injury assessment experience.
Experience communicating with deaf or hearing-impaired students.
