Data, Assessment, and Reporting Manager for Career Center

The Data, Assessment, and Reporting Manager serves as the Career Center's lead for data management, assessment, reporting, outcomes analysis, and data strategy. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining the systems, processes, dashboards, and reporting infrastructure that support data-informed decision-making and demonstrate institutional impact. This position oversees data governance, dashboard development, analytics, and the administration of the First Destination Survey, ensuring accurate and accessible reporting across undergraduate and graduate populations. Working closely with campus partners and Career Center leadership, the Manager translates complex data into clear recommendations that inform programming, resource allocation, employer engagement, and student success initiatives. The role also advances a culture of data-informed decision-making through assessment planning, staff training, and the exploration of innovative analytics tools and practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reporting, Analysis and Decision Support (30%)
  • Analyze student engagement, career outcomes, program participation, and assessment data across undergraduate and graduate populations to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that clearly communicate insights to staff, leadership, and external stakeholders
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests and prepare reports and data summaries for university leadership, academic departments, and campus partners
  • Monitor and communicate key performance indicators related to advising, events, programming, employer engagement, and resource utilization
  • Develop and maintain reporting related to employer engagement, recruiting activity, and partnership development to inform employer outreach and growth strategies
  • Identify trends and translate findings into clear, actionable insights that support the Career Connections Center's planning, goal setting, and resource allocation
  • Provide data-informed analysis and recommendations to Career Center leadership that supports strategic initiatives and long-term planning
  • Career Outcomes Assessment and Reporting (25%)
  • Lead the planning, administration, collection, analysis, and reporting of the First Destination Survey for all graduating students
  • Maintain compliance with NACE and MBACSEA standards and best practices related to career outcomes
  • Analyze and communicate career outcomes to highlight trends, opportunities, and post-graduation success
  • Incorporate data from multiple sources including survey data, internships, employer engagement, program assessments to strengthen reporting efforts
  • Develop annual outcomes reports and presentations for university leadership, external stakeholders, and accreditation or reporting purposes
  • Data Management and Reporting Infrastructure (20%)
  • Develop and maintain the Career Connections Center's data strategy, including data definitions, key performance indicators, reporting priorities, and assessment processes
  • Enhance the Career Connections Center's data management, reporting, and assessment processes across undergraduate and graduate populations to support operational and strategic decision making
  • Develop and document reporting standards, definitions, and procedures to promote consistency across the Career Connections Center
  • Monitor data quality and implement processes that improve accuracy, reliability, and consistency
  • Manage the collection and consolidation of data from career management systems, survey platforms, and external datasets
  • Ensure compliance with university policies, FERPA, and data privacy standards
  • Collaborate with Clark's Strategic Analytics and Institutional Research (STAIR) and IT teams to improve reporting processes and information sharing
  • Assessment, Partnerships, and Communication (15%)
  • Coordinate the Career Center's assessment activities and maintain key performance indicators
  • Build collaborative relationships with campus partners, including STAIR, academic units, Advancement, Alumni Relations, Admissions, and other stakeholders to support reporting and outcomes-related initiatives
  • Identify emerging trends and proactively prepare analyses that inform strategic priorities
  • Present data findings and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders
  • Promote a culture of data-informed practice by helping staff interpret and apply data in their work
  • Continuous Improvement and Reporting Innovation (5%)
  • Identify opportunities to streamline data collection and reporting processes through automation, system improvements, and emerging technologies
  • Enhance the accessibility and effectiveness of reports through visualizations and user-centered design
  • Assess and implement new tools and technologies that improve data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities
  • Professional Development & Center Support (5%)
  • Conduct regular research on higher education, career, and data strategy to propose adjustments to current strategies or address evolving challenges and opportunities
  • Participate in professional development activities related to data and assessment in higher ed and career services
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate graduate assistant(s) supporting data collection, reporting, assessment, and dashboard maintenance
  • Maintain departmental budget tracking records and prepare periodic budget reports to support financial planning and resource management

Requirements:

  • Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree
    • 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, assessment, reporting, institutional research, data management, or a related field
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly to diverse audiences
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience developing dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
    • Demonstrated experience developing dashboards and reports for decision-making
    • Experience working with multiple data systems and integrating data from various sources
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and functions
    • Demonstrated ability to present data and findings to a variety of audiences including leadership and non-technical stakeholders
    • Knowledge of FERPA and data privacy standards in higher education
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Degree in data analytics, statistics, data science, economics, social science research or a related field
    • Experience with survey tools and statistical software (e.g., Qualtrics, R, SPSS, SAS, or similar)
    • Strong understanding of data visualization best practices and user-centered reporting design
    • Experience using automation, business intelligence tools, AI-enabled technologies, or advanced analytics that improve reporting and decision making
    • Experience working with data platforms or cloud-based analytics environments

Additional Information:

Expected Hiring Range: $60,900 to $78,650

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The compensation for this position will be determined based on factors that include available budget, internal equity, and the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related credentials. This range represents Clark University's good-faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting consistent with Clark's compensation philosophy and internal alignment.
