PrideStaff is working with a high-tech manufacturing facility in search of a creative and innovative Mechanical Engineer. The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in developing next-generation additive manufacturing systems and providing mechanical design solutions for precision equipment. The engineer will handle complex systems from concept through production, including prototype development, testing, and system integration. The ideal candidate possesses an entrepreneurial mindset, thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates exceptional problem-solving skills, and excels at working across multidisciplinary engineering teams. The Mechanical Engineer is a full-time, temp to hire position in Saint Paul, MN.
Mechanical Engineer Job Responsibilities:
Conceive, Design, & Develop Complex Precision Mechanical & Electromechanical Systems From Concept Through Commercialization
Collaborate With Electrical, Software, & Process Engineering Teams on System Architecture, Hardware Integration, & Controls Development
Diagnose, Troubleshoot, & Resolve Issues Within Electromechanical Systems, Including Motion Control, Sensors, Actuators, Pneumatics, & Wiring
Utilize Advanced 3D CAD Software (SolidWorks Preferred) To Design Differentiated Additive Manufacturing Products & Components
Perform Prototype Development, System Testing, Validation, Root-Cause Analysis, & Continuous Improvement
Incorporate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) & Design for Assembly (DFA) Principles to Ensure Product Reliability & Scale Production
Direct & Execute Project Tasks Independently With Minimal Supervision While Maintaining Strong Cross-Functional Communication
Self-Organize, Prioritize Workload, & Maintain Accountability for Project Milestones in an Agile, High-Growth Setting
Maintain Clean Workstations, Proper Documentation, & Adhere to All Safety & Equipment Protocols
Mechanical Engineer Job Requirements & Working Conditions:
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering Required; Master's Degree Preferred
5+ Years of Mechanical Engineering Experience With a Proven Track Record of Successful Product Development Required
Advanced Proficiency in 3D CAD Software (SolidWorks Preferred) Required
Strong Background in Mechanics, Materials, Manufacturing Processes, Thermal Systems, & Precision Machine Design
Proven Ability to Diagnose & Integrate Electromechanical Systems (Motion Control, Motors, Sensors, Pneumatics)
Demonstrated Entrepreneurial Mindset & Ability to Execute With High Discipline in a Fast-Paced Environment
Strong Verbal, Written, Organizational, & Project Management Skills
Experience With Additive Manufacturing, 3D Printing, Printed Electronics, Robotics, or Semiconductor Equipment Preferred
Experience With Prototype Testing, Reliability Engineering, & Agile Product Lifecycles Preferred
