About the Role:

As our Room Attendant, you will play a vital role in creating exceptional guest experiences by ensuring every guest room is clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Your attention to detail, efficiency, and commitment to quality will help create the memorable first impression that defines M Social Sunnyvale.

You will help create an inviting environment where guests can relax and feel at home. Through exceptional cleaning standards, attention to detail, and teamwork, you will contribute directly to guest satisfaction, brand reputation, and operational excellence.

What You'll Be Doing

Guest Room Cleaning

• Clean and service assigned guest rooms in accordance with hotel and brand standards
• Make beds, replace linens, replenish towels, and restock guest amenities
• Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and sanitize guestrooms and bathrooms
• Clean windows, mirrors, furniture, fixtures, and appliances as assigned
• Ensure each guest room is fully prepared for arriving guests

Quality & Presentation

• Inspect guestrooms to ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper functionality
• Report maintenance concerns, damaged furniture, or safety hazards promptly
• Ensure guest supplies and amenities are stocked according to hotel standards
• Maintain exceptional attention to detail while meeting daily productivity goals

Guest Service

• Respond courteously to guest requests and special needs
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when servicing occupied rooms
• Create a welcoming environment through friendly, respectful interactions
• Communicate guest concerns promptly to supervisors

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all hotel safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
• Properly use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Adhere to infection prevention and sanitation protocols
• Protect guest privacy and secure lost-and-found items according to hotel procedures

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with Housekeeping Supervisors, Housepersons, Laundry, Front Office, and Engineering teams
• Communicate room status updates accurately and promptly
• Support coworkers to ensure daily operational goals are achieved
• Participate in departmental meetings and ongoing training

Inventory & Equipment

• Maintain housekeeping carts in a clean, organized, and fully stocked condition
• Report supply shortages and equipment issues to supervisors
• Use cleaning equipment safely and efficiently
• Help maintain organized linen closets and storage areas

Requirements

• Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest service

• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying schedules based on business needs

Technical / Role-Specific Requirements

• Previous housekeeping or hotel experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment is a plus
• Ability to meet productivity and quality standards
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Basic English communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality, housekeeping, or janitorial services preferred
• Experience in a full-service or lifestyle hotel is a plus
• Familiarity with hotel cleanliness and quality standards is beneficial

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods
• Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 40 pounds
• Ability to push fully stocked housekeeping carts throughout the property
• Comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
