HR Assistant

Location: Hartford, CT
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (fully onsite)
Employment Type: Temp (3+ month contract)
Pay: $18.00/hour

We are seeking an HR Assistant to provide administrative and employee support within a Human Resources department. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build or continue their career in Human Resources while gaining experience supporting employees and HR operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Human Resources team.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding general HR questions, policies, procedures, and available resources.
  • Assist with employee relations documentation, correspondence, and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain confidential employee files and HR information while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with onboarding, employee changes, and other HR-related processes.
  • Enter, update, and maintain employee information within HR systems and databases.
  • Prepare reports, documents, spreadsheets, and other HR materials as needed.
  • Provide professional customer service to employees, managers, and other internal departments.
  • Assist with additional HR and administrative projects as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field OR approximately 5 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Previous Human Resources, employee relations, administrative, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive employee information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, professional environment.
  • Must be comfortable working fully on-site in Hartford, CT Monday through Friday.
