Overview
- We are seeking a Hardware Engineer to join a highly collaborative engineering team focused on developing next-generation embedded electronic products. This role offers the opportunity to own hardware designs from concept through production, working on products such as displays, instrument clusters, sensors, controllers, and other embedded systems.
- The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with experience in analog and digital circuit design, PCB development, and embedded hardware systems. You will work on new product development as well as sustaining engineering efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams while helping drive projects from early design stages through manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop analog and digital hardware for embedded electronic products.
Create electrical schematics and support PCB design, layout, bring-up, and validation activities.
Develop hardware solutions utilizing microcontrollers, microprocessors, and mixed-signal circuitry.
Lead hardware development projects from concept through production release.
Manage multiple development efforts simultaneously while meeting project objectives and schedules.
Support product redesign efforts related to component obsolescence and supply chain challenges.
Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners on component selection, sourcing, and production support.
Perform hardware testing, troubleshooting, validation, and root cause analysis.
Support sustaining engineering activities for existing products and platforms.
Document design decisions, test results, and engineering changes.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful product implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- hardware or electrical design engineering.
- Strong experience with analog and digital circuit design.
- Proven ability to take hardware designs from concept through production.
- Hands-on experience with schematic capture and PCB design.
- Experience working with microcontrollers and microprocessors in embedded applications.
- Knowledge of mixed-signal circuit design and electronic hardware development.
- Experience troubleshooting and validating electronic hardware systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with embedded products such as displays, instrument clusters, sensors, controllers, telematics, or related electronics.
- Experience with FPGAs, ICs, ADCs/DACs, and other complex electronic components.
- Knowledge of power electronics, AC/DC, and DC/DC circuit design.
- Familiarity with firmware or embedded software development environments.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, production transfers, or supplier transitions.
- Previous technical leadership or mentoring experience.
- Automotive, industrial, transportation, or embedded electronics industry experience.
