Job description
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and service-driven Customer Service / Cash Office Clerk who enjoys helping others and ensuring accuracy in daily operations. In this role, you'll support front-end operations by delivering excellent guest service, handling cash office responsibilities with precision, and helping ensure smooth, efficient store transactions.At Hen House, we're more than a grocery store-we're a team committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences through quality products, strong teamwork, and consistent execution. As part of the Balls Food Stores family, we offer the stability of a locally owned company with deep community roots.If you are highly organized, trustworthy, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment where accuracy matters, this is a great opportunity to make an impact.Key Responsibilities & Duties:Support exceptional guest hospitality by providing friendly, professional service and resolving guest questions or concerns efficientlyHandle cash office functions including counting drawers, preparing deposits, verifying cash balances, and maintaining accurate recordsEnsure all cash handling procedures are followed to support accuracy, security, and complianceOperate cash registers to accurately process transactions, including cash, credit, and digital paymentsScan items, verify pricing, and ensure accurate totals while maintaining efficient checkout speedsProvide change, issue receipts, and handle returns or exchanges in accordance with company policiesAssist with front-end operations including register support, bagging, and maintaining organized checkout areasMaintain organization and security of cash, safe, and cash office areasReport discrepancies, shortages, or overages in a timely mannerCommunicate clearly with leadership and teammates regarding cash flow, issues, and operational needsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentFollow company policies, loss prevention practices, and safety standards at all timesCollaborate with teammates across departments to support store operations and guest satisfactionRemain productive during slower periods by assisting with front-end or administrative tasksMinimum Qualifications:Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experienceRequired: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPreferred: Experience in grocery or retail environments
