Assistant Principal
La Caada Unified School District is seeking a dynamic and visionary Assistant Principal to provide leadership at our high school. Ideal candidates will possess knowledge of best educational practices, strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to the success of all students. The Assistant Principal will join an innovative management team dedicated to program excellence. The High School Assistant Principal is responsible for administrative duties assigned by and supervised by the High School Principal. The Assistant Principal may also be assigned other District-wide program responsibilities based upon the needs of the District. At this time, the position will be responsible for curriculum and instruction duties at the high school.
Qualifications: 1. Credential: Valid California teaching credential and valid California administrative credential or certificate of eligibility for an administrative credential. 2. Education: Master's degree or higher 3. Experience: At least five (5) years of successful teaching experience required, and prior successful administrative experience is preferred. 4. Other: A valid driver's license with access to a private vehicle. Work Year: 12-month calendar, 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Hours in the evenings and on weekends may be required. The selected candidate will begin in the position as soon as background clearance is confirmed. Students are on campus Thursday, August 13, 2026 through Thursday, June 3, 2027. The high school is in session 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., with a block schedule on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Salary: Step placement on the CMSA certificated salary schedule will be based upon education and years of experience in an administrative position. The starting placement will be between $137,828 and $159,918, which corresponds to $11,485.65 to $13,326.48 per month. Administrators may earn annual performance bonuses based on evaluation ratings. An additional 3% of salary is available for professional development opportunities; cell phone and mileage stipends will be included. Certificated administrators are paid once a month, on the last workday of the month. Benefits: Positions over 50% are eligible to participate in the District's medical benefit plans. Currently the District's maximum contribution to an employee's benefits package is $20,944 per year. Premiums for a part-time employee are prorated based on the employee's full-time equivalent (FTE) percentage. The benefits year runs October 1 to September 30. If not already a member, the new employee will be enrolled in the California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS).
