## About the Role Mercor is partnering with a leading technology organization to recruit experienced Electrical Design Specialists for a short-term project. Specialists will apply their hands-on industry experience to analyze, evaluate, and solve complex electrical design and system-level engineering problems across a range of applications. ## What You'll Do - Develop, analyze, and evaluate electrical designs based on technical requirements, specifications, and system performance. - Design and review electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and components, including distribution systems, power systems, control panels, switchgear, and motor control systems. - Interpret and analyze electrical schematics, single-line and wiring diagrams, layouts, equipment specifications, and technical documentation. - Perform electrical calculations including load flow, voltage drop, short-circuit analysis, protection coordination, and equipment sizing. - Evaluate design alternatives, engineering trade-offs, and system performance, and identify potential design issues or improvements. - Review and validate designs, calculations, assumptions, and technical approaches against project requirements and engineering standards. ## Who Should Apply - Experienced Electrical Design Engineers, Electrical Engineers, or Electrical Design Specialists with **hands-on industry experience**. - Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. - Strong understanding of electrical system design, power systems, and engineering principles. - Practical experience designing or evaluating electrical systems across areas such as industrial facilities, infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, renewable energy, building services, or energy storage. - Experience with low- and medium-voltage systems, electrical protection, equipment sizing, and power distribution. - Experience with electrical design and engineering tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, EPLAN, Revit, or equivalent is a plus. Candidates with practical experience applying electrical engineering principles to real-world electrical systems are strongly preferred. ## Preferred Qualifications - Advanced degree or professional engineering certification. - Experience with power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination. - Experience specifying and sizing transformers, switchgear, cables, motors, and protection equipment. - Experience with industrial automation, instrumentation, or control systems. - Experience designing electrical systems for manufacturing facilities, data centers, renewable energy projects, or other complex infrastructure. - Familiarity with applicable electrical codes and standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, or equivalent. - Experience reviewing vendor drawings, equipment datasheets, technical submittals, and engineering designs. ## Project Details - **Duration:** Short-term project - **Work Type:** Technical problem-solving, electrical design analysis, and expert evaluation - **Domain:** Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, Power Systems, and Industrial Electrical Systems We consider all qualified applicants without regard to legally protected characteristics and provide reasonable accommodations upon request.
