In this role, you will lead a team of automation engineers, manage complex engineering projects from conception to completion, and ensure maximum system uptime, safety, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate blends deep technical expertise in PLC/SCADA programming with strong leadership capabilities to drive continuous improvement and technological innovation across our facilities. • Manage department logistics, including setting key performance indicators (KPIs), estimating capital project budgets, and managing specialized external vendors or system integrators.
  • Support 24/7/365 continuous plant operations by ensuring all control system needs are met and minimizing production downtime, while leading full root-cause investigations into any control system failures or anomalies to implement corrective actions and prevent future occurrences.
  • Govern plant Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure by ensuring high availability, robust data historization, and strict adherence to safety codes, industry standards, and corporate cybersecurity protocols.
  • Orchestrate modernization and automation CapEx projects by identifying obsolete or underperforming legacy hardware, networks, and software applications, and directing controls project engineers from early-stage architecture design through final commissioning to deliver upgrades smoothly, on time, within budget, and to the correct scope via extensive cross-functional coordination.
  • Oversee and maintain upgrades of departmental and corporate business systems like maintenance programs, electronic management of change systems, inventory management systems, etc.
  • Drive plant energy efficiency and performance optimization by guiding the development and deployment of Advanced Process Control (APC), while actively pursuing AI systems, new automation technologies, and digital transformation projects.
  • Enforce strict Management of Change (MOC) protocols for all control system modifications, ensuring thorough risk assessment, documentation, and pre-commissioning safety reviews are completed prior to implementation.
  • Maintain the validated state of plant control systems, ensuring all software, hardware, and logic changes comply with medical product manufacturing regulations and quality standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, safety, quality and engineering teams to align automation strategies with global business goals.
  • Assist with Corporate cybersecurity initiatives such as working with IT and our European and Asian partners to develop OT protocols for all operations related groups.
