Maintenance Technician- 1st Shift

ABOUT THIS ROLEThe role of a Maintenance Technician with Wawona Frozen Foods provides a wide range of activities including housekeeping, monitoring systems for proper operations, ensuring countermeasures are followed, repairing and executing work alongside other maintenance staff, or helping in other departments as needed. This role is essential to our operations and candidates must be able to follow clear directions, work in a loud, cold environment, and perform work as part of a team. DUTIES INCLUDEActive participation in Wawona Frozen Foods safety program to maintain a healthy and injury-free environment.Participate in training and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth.Follow all GMP, HAACP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and SQF policies and procedures.Clean-up work areas or other housekeeping duties as assigned or needed.Servicing machinery for the prevention of breakdowns, in accordance with the organizations LOTO programKnowledge in fabrication and electrical Entry level ability to perform Total Productive Maintenance in any equipment that include but are not limited to repair or replacement of: Bearings, Bushings, Shafts, Gear Boxes, Greasing, Lubing, etc.Ability to assess issues, troubleshoot, and develop proper countermeasures. Inspect systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.Other duties may be assigned as required by position. REQUIREMENTS1 -3 years of related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong electrical knowledgeAbility to read, write, follow instructions, and recognize similarities and difference.Ability to do continuous repetitive work.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Excellent listening skills and strong communication skillsA strong work ethic and a can-do attitudeSelf-motivated and self-starterAbility to work with various employees and employee levels while building rapport and respect.Must be punctual and regular attendance is required. Understand and follow all color-coding rules as stated in procedures for utensils, containers, and other equipment. LOCATIONThis position will work out of our Cedar location. PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:Work in an environment where there can be medium to loud noise and in cold temperatures. Stand and walk, feel, reach with hands and arms. Occasionally requested to sit and talk or hear. A fast-paced environment that requires high attention to details and minimal down time.Occasional lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as buckets of fruit, boxes, pails, etc. Lifting requirement: Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. independently. Other duties as assigned requiring repetitive tasks, duties, or assignments such as sorting, packing, stacking, or cutting. Work flexible/varying schedules to support the team, customers, and deadlines.Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and ability to see all colors. You will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and vibration. Exposure to cleaning products and agents for the sanitation of equipment and machinery regularly. Wear appropriate personal protection equipment and adhere to dress code as outlined for working in a food manufacturing facility.
