Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Job Description Job Title Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a 26-week contract assignment in Hillsboro, Oregon. This role involves working closely with licensed Physical Therapists to provide high-quality patient care in a clinical setting, focusing on rehabilitation and functional improvement. The successful candidate will be instrumental in implementing individualized treatment plans, assisting patients through various therapeutic exercises and modalities, and meticulously documenting progress. Key Responsibilities Assist Physical Therapists in the delivery of patient care, including implementing treatment plans and therapeutic interventions. Guide patients through exercises, stretches, and other physical activities as prescribed by the Physical Therapist. Monitor patient responses to treatment and report progress or changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist. Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and adaptive equipment use. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatments, progress, and attendance. Ensure a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment. Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes. Required Qualifications Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program. Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant in a relevant clinical setting. Active, unrestricted Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license in the state of Oregon. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferred Qualifications Not specified. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in applying a variety of therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual therapy techniques. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology. Ability to effectively document patient care and progress using electronic health records (EHR) systems. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues. Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a patient-centered approach to care. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Proficiency in using standard physical therapy equipment (equipment will be provided by the facility). Shift Details Shift Type: Days (AM shift) Shift Duration: 8 hours per shift Days per Week: 5 days per week Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week (Guaranteed Work Week) On-Call Requirements: None Weekend Rotation: Not specified. Contract Length: 26 weeks Start Date: September 14, 2026 Note: Guaranteed Work Week (GWW) may be adjusted to 32 hours during holiday weeks.
