The Opportunity

Our client, an established specialty construction contractor, is seeking two experienced Construction Project Managers to lead technically complex geotechnical and heavy civil projects in Orange County, California and Kent, Washington.

You will oversee projects involving deep foundations, shoring, earth retention, drilling, ground improvement, grouting, and dewatering. This hands-on role manages the full project lifecycle, from estimating and preconstruction through field execution and closeout.

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Locations: Orange County, ON & Kent, WA - relocation assistance is not available

Work Schedule: On-site with regular travel to active project sites

Compensation: $90,000-$130,000 USD, based on experience

What You’ll Do

  • Manage geotechnical construction projects from estimating and preconstruction through execution and closeout.
  • Prepare and review estimates, proposals, scopes of work, bid packages, budgets, schedules, and forecasts.
  • Coordinate field activities with superintendents, engineers, crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Track project costs, change orders, materials, subcontractor expenses, and financial performance.
  • Manage multiple projects based on their size, scope, complexity, and delivery requirements.
  • Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Resolve changing site conditions, constructability concerns, design challenges, and operational constraints.
  • Support design-build planning and develop practical, field-ready solutions.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and lead internal and client-facing project meetings.
  • Promote safe work practices and help ensure projects meet safety, quality, schedule, and budget expectations.

  • Project experience involving deep foundations, shoring, earth retention, drilling, ground improvement, or related scopes.
  • Strong knowledge of estimating, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, cost control, and project financials.
  • Experience coordinating field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, field-driven environment.
  • Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Ability to work on-site in Kent and travel regularly to project locations.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

What You’ll Gain

  • Competitive base salary of $100,000-$140,000 USD.
  • 401(k) plan with employer matching and profit-sharing opportunities.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Life and disability insurance.
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick time.
  • Continuing education and professional development opportunities.
  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance, where applicable.
  • The opportunity to lead technically challenging geotechnical and heavy civil construction projects.
