Immediate need for a talented Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Analyst Life Sciences/ Biopharma/Healthcare. This is a 06+ months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Oakland, CA (Hybrid).

Pay Range: $48 - $51/hour. Traveler benefits as per agency package. (Benefits vary by vendor and assignment.)

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Sourcing & Category Support
• Support Category Managers in developing and executing category strategies across Research & Product Development procurement categories.
• Analyze spend, supplier, market, and demand information to identify sourcing and value-creation opportunities.
• Develop category profiles, supplier landscapes, market intelligence, and opportunity assessments.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, standardization, demand management, and improved purchasing practices.
• Translate category strategy into practical sourcing and procurement actions.
• Spend Analytics & Procurement Data
• Analyze large and complex procurement and spend datasets across multiple categories.
• Perform spend classification, cleansing, segmentation, and validation to improve data quality and decision-making.
• Identify spending trends, supplier concentration, pricing opportunities, and potential savings.
• Build and maintain procurement reports, dashboards, savings trackers, forecasts, and sourcing pipelines.
• Use Excel and Power BI or similar analytics/reporting tools to turn data into actionable insights.
• Sourcing Execution
• Support RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, competitive bids, supplier evaluations, and negotiations.
• Analyze supplier proposals, pricing, commercial terms, capabilities, quality, and delivery requirements.
• Prepare sourcing recommendations, business cases, supplier comparisons, and presentation materials.
• Track sourcing initiatives, milestones, savings, and value-delivery activities through completion.
• Partner with Category Managers to ensure sourcing strategies are executed on schedule.
• Supplier Management
• Support supplier segmentation, qualification, performance tracking, and rationalization.
• Analyze supplier performance and identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, service, risk, and supply continuity.
• Maintain supplier information, contracts, pricing, performance metrics, and procurement records.
• Support supplier relationship management and issue resolution.
• Stakeholder Partnership
• Partner with Category Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and procurement needs.
• Work closely with scientists, research teams, laboratory operations, finance, and suppliers.
• Support demand management, specification standardization, and procurement process adoption.
• Clearly communicate analytical findings and sourcing recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Procurement Operations & Continuous Improvement
• Support procurement process standardization, catalog enablement, SOP development, and best-practice adoption.
• Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, data quality, reporting, and operational efficiency.
• Help establish scalable procurement practices across multiple categories.
• Support initiatives that improve the overall procurement experience for internal stakeholders.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Finance, Life Sciences, Operations, or a related field.
• 36 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, procurement analytics, supply chain, or related consulting.
• Strong experience with spend analysis, supplier analysis, sourcing, or procurement data.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets.
• Experience supporting RFP/RFI/RFQ or competitive sourcing events.
• Experience with supplier evaluation, negotiations, procurement analysis, or sourcing execution.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple categories, projects, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, biopharma, life sciences, healthcare, medical device, or laboratory environments.
• Experience sourcing or supporting categories such as:
• CRO / Contract Research Organizations
• Research services
• Chemicals
• Reagents
• Biologics
• Laboratory consumables
• Laboratory equipment
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics tools.
• Experience with procurement/ERP platforms such as SAP, Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, Jaggaer, or similar systems.
• Experience with supplier segmentation, supplier rationalization, supplier performance, or category strategy.
• Experience tracking savings, value realization, sourcing pipelines, or procurement KPIs.
