Returns Clerk


Position Summary
Employnet is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Returns Clerk to join our team. The Returns Clerk is responsible for processing returned merchandise, maintaining accurate records, inspecting products, and ensuring returns are handled efficiently and according to company policies. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Key Responsibilities


  • Process customer and product returns accurately and efficiently.

  • Inspect returned merchandise for damage, defects, missing parts, or quality concerns.

  • Verify return documentation, product information, quantities, and authorization requirements.

  • Enter return information and transactions into inventory and tracking systems.

  • Process approved credits, exchanges, replacements, and other return resolutions.

  • Communicate with customers, warehouse staff, supervisors, and other departments regarding return-related issues.

  • Sort and organize returned merchandise for restocking, repair, disposal, or additional inspection.

  • Maintain accurate records of returned products and prepare reports as needed.

  • Research and resolve discrepancies between returned merchandise, paperwork, and system records.

  • Properly label, package, and store returned merchandise.

  • Assist with inventory control by updating stock levels and identifying damaged or defective products.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

  • Provide professional and courteous customer service when handling return concerns.

  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.

  • Perform additional clerical and warehouse duties as assigned.

Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous warehouse, inventory, customer service, or clerical experience preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Basic computer and data-entry skills.

  • Ability to accurately handle paperwork and inventory information.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

  • Ability to lift, move, and organize merchandise as required.

A strong Returns Clerk takes pride in accuracy, follows procedures, and works effectively with multiple departments to ensure returns are processed quickly and correctly.







Monday-Friday: 8:00am-4:00pm
