Required Skills & Experience:
6-10 years of indirect tax experience with a focus on Sales & Use Tax.
Experience leading customer-facing implementations, onboarding programs, or tax technology deployments.
Strong hands-on experience with tax research, data analysis, testing, and issue resolution.
Experience working directly with tax authorities, audits, notices, refund claims, rulings, or voluntary disclosures.
Ability to manage multiple customer engagements and drive projects to completion.
Strong communication and relationship management skills with tax, finance, and IT stakeholders.
Comfortable serving as the primary tax contact during customer implementations.
Technology-savvy and comfortable working with customer data, product outputs, and system behavior.
Deep expertise in at least one of the following: Technology/SaaS, Manufacturing, or broad multi-industry Sales & Use Tax environments.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
Big 4 or consulting experience, particularly in implementation, managed services, or tax technology engagements.
Experience implementing or supporting Vertex, Avalara, OneSource, SAP, Oracle, or similar tax solutions.
Experience with ERP tax configurations, tax engines, billing systems, or tax automation platforms.
Experience developing implementation methodologies, training programs, or customer success processes.
Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, or QA teams to improve software solutions.
Experience with AI-powered products, automation initiatives, or tax transformation projects.
Job Description:
We are seeking a Manager/Senior Manager of Tax AI Delivery & Implementation to lead customer onboarding, implementation, and adoption of AI-powered Sales & Use Tax solutions. This individual will serve as the primary tax expert during customer engagements, helping customers successfully implement the platform, validate tax outcomes, and build confidence in the product. The role works closely with customers, partners, and internal teams to drive successful go-lives while bringing field insights back to the product organization.
Day to Day:
Lead customer implementations from scoping and data intake through go-live and post-launch support.
Act as the Sales & Use Tax SME during customer and partner engagements.
Review and validate product outputs against customer transaction data and tax scenarios.
Train customers and partners on platform functionality, workflows, and best practices.
Analyze customer data, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities to improve implementation outcomes.
Build implementation playbooks, QA processes, training materials, and other scalable delivery assets.
Partner with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to communicate bugs, product gaps, and customer feedback.
