Job Title Cath Lab Technologist Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cath Lab Technologist for a 13-week contract position in an acute care setting in Chesapeake, Virginia. This role is integral to a dynamic cardiac team, primarily assisting physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures. The technologist will be responsible for operating specialized imaging equipment, meticulously monitoring patient hemodynamics, and ensuring a sterile environment throughout procedures. Key Responsibilities Assist cardiologists and other medical staff during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures. Operate and maintain fluoroscopic and other specialized imaging equipment to capture high-quality images. Monitor patient vital signs, EKG, and hemodynamic parameters throughout procedures. Prepare and maintain sterile fields, ensuring strict adherence to aseptic techniques. Administer contrast media and other medications under physician supervision as per protocol. Document procedure details, patient data, and equipment usage accurately in electronic health records. Provide pre- and post-procedure patient care and education as needed. Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure proper functioning of all Cath Lab instruments. Required Qualifications Active state license or accreditation relevant to Cath Lab Technologists in Virginia. Minimum of 1-2 years of recent, direct experience as a Cath Lab Technologist. Preferred Qualifications Not specified. Equipment Proficiency: Fluoroscopy systems, hemodynamic monitoring systems, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), fractional flow reserve (FFR) equipment, basic life support equipment. Soft Skills: Excellent communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, ability to work effectively in a high-pressure team environment, strong organizational skills.
