Child and Family Counselor Location: Onsite - Palmdale, CA Schedule: Part Time (20-25 hours/week) Non- Exempt Department: Intensive Home Based Services (COEDS) Reports to: Program Supervisor Pay Range: $22.00 to $22.50 The hourly range for this position is $22.00- $22.50 for employees hired in Southern California.

Position Summary As a Child and Family Counselor in Palmdale, California, you will travel to your client's homes or community setting to coach and guide at-risk youth to strengthen their foundation to thrive in daily life.
By building a strong, positive, caring relationship, you'll create a safe space for your client to share and seek guidance during challenging times.
In our team-based setting, you'll document and share the status and experiences of your treatment and intervention plans with other team members, which may include social workers, parent partners, program managers and clinicians to provide the best support for the youth. Whether you are meeting with your client individually or in a family setting, you'll build a trusting relationship with each of your clients.
The flexible schedule allows you to meet with your 4-6 clients at optimal times.
Just by the client knowing you believe in them, you become the catalyst that helps them improve.
You'll see your clients improve their anger management skills, increase their self-esteem, improve their social skills and increase their social connections, and improve their impulse control in order to maintain their placement, avoid hospitalization or juvenile justice involvement and strengthen their resiliency, relationships, and family connectedness. Key Responsibilities * Provide one-on-one and family-based coaching to youth and caregivers in home and community environments * Implement individualized treatment and intervention plans focused on emotional regulation, communication, and coping skills * Support youth in developing anger management, impulse control, self-esteem, and healthy social connections * Build safe, trusting relationships that encourage youth to share openly and practice new skills * Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team-including social workers, parent partners, clinicians, and program leadership-to ensure coordinated care * Document progress, interventions, and observations to support treatment planning and program outcomes * Help youth maintain placement stability, avoid hospitalization or juvenile justice involvement, and strengthen family connectedness * Manage a flexible schedule to meet with 3-5 clients at times that best support their engagement and success Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in psychology, social services, or a related field * Minimum of 1 year of experience working with high-risk youth and families * Passion for providing direct, relationship-based support in home and community settings * Strong communication and collaboration skills * Commitment to trauma-informed, strengths-based practices Your Growth Aspiranet invests in your success from day one.
