apexanalytix is seeking an experienced Technology Leader to serve as VP, Head of Software Development, setting delivery direction for the product engineering organization and driving the teams responsible for new and existing customer-facing software and SaaS products, including apexanalytix's supplier management platform, the QubitOn data validation and risk API platform, and the Conductor supplier community platform.

This role works in close collaboration with fellow executive staff members, Architecture, Infrastructure Operations, Product Development and Marketing to drive the organization's client-facing products towards continued growth.

This role will lead a multi-national team of 65+ staff across Greensboro, NC and Noida, India, including Software Engineering, Technical Product Management, Quality Assurance, Project Management and Documentation.

apexanalytix is an AI-first engineering organization: this role sets the bar for high-quality, AI-assisted engineering practice and the guardrails around it, while staying close enough to the code to lead by example.

The technology surface. A.NET 10 enterprise platform (ASP.NET Core, EF Core, OData, gRPC, .NET Aspire) with a substantial shared package estate and a React 19 front end; a Go microservice estate with mTLS, shared contracts and a service template; a supplier community platform; and internal engineering products. Databases in production include SQL Server, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, OceanBase, CockroachDB, Vitess, ClickHouse, Elasticsearch and Snowflake. Deployment is Kubernetes-only and GitOps-reconciled across a fleet of more than 60 clusters.

Quick Take - Leverages subject-matter expertise in the.NET and Go development stacks, modern web application architecture, and AI-assisted engineering practices to address customers' needs. Partners with internal industry experts to strengthen understanding of the industry. Leverages a deep understanding of customers to drive and create deep impact, share knowledge with the virtual team, and promote customer business perspectives.

Acts as the voice of the customer and internal advocate by providing insights, feedback and challenges from the customer to internal teams across all levels of the organization. Drives action to ensure internal teams understand and respond to insights. Escalates pressing customer issues to apexanalytix internal stakeholders to facilitate the appropriate solutions and capabilities for the customer.

The Work -

Leads technical strategic planning to maximise business goals through the development and deployment of all products and services, and is accountable for predictable, high-quality release outcomes.

Defines development standards, organization and methodologies for the company, and coordinates plans across multiple product lines in partnership with Architecture.

Collaborates closely with the business and customer segments to understand market requirements and help translate strategic and product priorities into technology roadmap plans.

Manages prioritisation of strategic objectives with operational, client-facing support for multiple teams and products. Owns the priority and work-assignment process end to end, against a single, auditable system of record.

Champions AI-led engineering practice across the organization setting the bar for AI-assisted code quality, defining guardrails for AI-generated code (review, testing, security, IP), and driving adoption of agentic coding workflows. Is accountable for measured adoption against a stated baseline, not announced adoption.

Sets and enforces the engineering quality bar: code review standard, automated test coverage expectations, static analysis and formatting and build gates in CI.

Owns release and package discipline across an independently published, floating-version package estate, including the producer-first sequencing required when shared contracts change, and the CI invariants that keep builds reproducible.

Owns regression prevention: every defect fix ships with a test that fails before the fix and passes after it, and every fix is swept across sibling occurrences rather than applied in one place.

Owns the Quality Assurance function and the automated test estate, including the end-to-end suite, and is accountable for defect escape rate to production.

Partners with Architecture on design review, and with Infrastructure Operations on the operability of what ships health and dependency endpoints, replica and anti-affinity requirements, resource requests and limits, and graceful degradation.

Mentors and oversees personnel development plans for all technical staff, including Engineering Managers and Tech Leads across Greensboro, NC and Noida, India, and builds a technical leadership bench in Noida capable of owning full product areas.

Balances senior engineering capacity across the portfolio, ensuring strategic platforms are staffed with the experience they require.

Provides clear forecasts and technical roadmaps to the executive team and executes against those plans.

Works within a strongly collaborative environment, negotiates challenges, identifies risks, and provides associated mitigation strategies.

Provides budget planning, resource allocation and capital spend within the organization's overall business requirements.

Ability to roll up their sleeves, understand code, and provide guidance to the development organization to solve complex problems remaining an active, credible technical contributor.

The Must-Haves -

12+ years leadership experience in software development, including planning, build, launch and support of multi-release complex software products sold commercially to external clients.

Extensive knowledge of the.NET stack, including.NET Core/9.0+, C#, ASP.NET Core, Razor, MVC, and modern JavaScript frameworks (Node.js, React.js).

Working depth in Go, sufficient to set standards and review production services. A significant and growing share of the estate is written in Go.

Experience with relational and distributed database design. SQL Server and PostgreSQL required; exposure to MariaDB, Vitess, CockroachDB or another distributed SQL engine strongly preferred, given an active multi-engine migration programme.

Experience with containerized, Kubernetes-based application deployment, and enough fluency with GitOps delivery to partner credibly with Infrastructure Operations.

Experience driving AI-assisted and agentic engineering practices at organizational scale, with concrete examples of workflows, tools and measurable outcomes.

Experience with Agile development processes, particularly SCRUM methodology, and with microservices architecture and DevOps practices.

Experience leading multi-national development organizations, including in-house staff and contract positions located on-shore, off-shore and hybrid, with sustained US-overlap working hours.

Experience managing a budget matching the organization's strategic business goals and timelines with product deliverables.

Experience in customer-centric product design. Contextual Inquiry or other customer-focused development process experience a strong plus.

Strong communication skills.

Preferred skills:

Experience shipping in a SOC 2 or FedRAMP-readiness environment.

Experience in supply chain, procurement, fintech, audit or data/analytics domains.

Education Levels/Credentials (Degree types and Emphasis) - Undergraduate degree or graduate degree in computer science or another technical field, and/or a graduate business degree a strong plus but not required.

Travel required occasional, including periodic travel to apexanalytix HQ in Greensboro, NC.

Scope Boundaries:

This role owns how software is built and delivered quality, throughput, predictability and engineering practice. Architectural standards and design authority sit with the Architect; infrastructure and platform operations with the Global IT Managed Services Leader; product strategy and roadmap with the Product Leader; security policy and compliance attestation with the CISO; and AI and automation delivery with a separate AI & Automation organization. Where AI services are consumed by the product platforms, this role owns the integration contract interface, versioning, SLA and failure behaviour.
