Logistics Coordinator
Based on site at Rocket Lab's global headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for domestic and international shipping. There are hundreds of components that are used to manufacture Electron's Launch Vehicle that are globally sourced and/or moved domestically and internationally between Rocket Lab manufacturing sites. This role will actively manage the logistical movements of these items. This role is responsible for managing domestic and international logistics from suppliers, between Rocket Lab locations internationally and beyond. The role also requires adherence to ITAR and other applicable export regulations.
Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery.
Schedule transportation and resolve shipping or delivery issues.
Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and maintain accurate documentation.
Identify and implement process improvements to optimize logistics operations.
Train, and support logistics staff to meet performance goals.
Build and maintain relationships with vendors and evaluate their performance.
Communicate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth operations.
Track and analyze logistics KPIs and prepare performance reports.
Develop and implement risk management and contingency plans for disruptions.
High school diploma and 1+ years of experience.
Exposure to international shipping regulations.
High degree of knowledge of freight forwarding and customs regulations.
International Air Transportation Association, (IATA) / International Maritime Dangerous Good (IMDG) knowledge.
Strong IT knowledge, comfortable working with Windows.
Experience working with a fully integrated Enterprise Resource Planning system.
Basic understanding of necessary documentation for international shipping.
