Job description

About Integrated Real Estate Group (IREG) Innovation Through Integration.

Integrated Real Estate Group (IREG) is a vertically integrated real estate company with more than 1,200 employees across 46+ communities - and growing.

For over 20 years, we’ve developed and operated multifamily and senior living communities across Texas and Oklahoma, delivering more than 15,000 units and $2 billion in total development.

What sets IREG apart is our integrated approach, bringing together development, construction, and operations to create high-performing communities across affordable housing, workforce housing, and market-rate living , including multifamily, active adult, independent living, assisted living, and memory care.

At IREG, innovation isn’t just what we build, it’s how we operate, grow, and develop our people.

We build communities and develop the people who lead them.

Step Into Executive Leadership in Senior Living Are you ready to lead—not someday, but soon?

Integrated Real Estate Group’s Executive Director in Training (EDIT) Program is a paid, structured leadership development program designed for high-potential professionals who are ready to advance into executive-level senior living operations.

This is not an entry-level role.

It is an immersive, approximately 12-month leadership pathway for professionals with demonstrated leadership experience who want to develop the operational, financial, people-management, and strategic capabilities required to lead a senior living community.

Through hands-on experience, structured learning, executive mentorship, and progressive responsibility, you’ll prepare to oversee a community’s operations, lead multidisciplinary teams, drive financial performance, and deliver an exceptional experience for residents and families.

About the Opportunity As an EDIT participant, you will be assigned to a designated senior living host community and work closely with an experienced Executive Director, regional operations leaders, and community department heads.

Throughout the program, you’ll gain direct exposure to every major area of community leadership, including:

  • Community operations and executive decision-making Financial management, budgeting, and performance reporting Sales, marketing, occupancy, and revenue strategy Human resources, payroll, hiring, coaching, and retention Resident services and family relationship management Regulatory compliance, quality standards, and risk management Business office operations and accounts receivable Team culture, accountability, and leadership development This is a hands-on, immersive experience.
  • You will actively participate in operating the community, solving business challenges, supporting department leaders, and gradually assuming greater ownership as your knowledge and leadership readiness develop.
  • Progress is measured through hands-on performance, structured learning modules, milestone assessments, leadership feedback, and demonstrated readiness—not simply time spent in the program.
  • Upon successful completion, graduates may be considered for placement into an Executive Director, Business Office Manager, or other approved community leadership position , based on demonstrated readiness, business needs, position availability, and geographic flexibility.
  • What You’ll Own During Training Learn the operations of each community department and how those functions work together to support residents, employees, and overall business performance Participate in daily leadership meetings, operational reviews, and community stand-ups Support the Executive Director in overseeing daily community operations and resolving operational challenges Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, accounts receivable, collections, expense management, and performance tracking Review community performance indicators related to occupancy, revenue, labor, resident satisfaction, and operational efficiency Partner with sales and marketing leaders to support occupancy goals, outreach strategies, upcoming move-ins, and resident transitions Gain experience with recruiting, onboarding, payroll, timekeeping, employee relations, coaching, performance management, and retention Build relationships with residents and families while helping address questions, concerns, and service needs Learn applicable company policies, regulatory requirements, licensing standards, and risk-management practices Participate in community events, resident programming, department meetings, and leadership initiatives Support department leaders in maintaining established budgets, service standards, staffing expectations, and operational goals Complete structured learning assignments, leadership assessments, and developmental milestones throughout the program Accept increasing responsibility for community operations as skills, judgment, and leadership capabilities develop Program Highlights Approximately 12-month paid leadership development program Competitive salary throughout the training period Structured executive leadership curriculum with progressive responsibility Direct mentorship from experienced Executive Directors and regional operations leaders Regular coaching, performance feedback, and leadership-development discussions Hands-on experience across community operations, sales, finance, human resources, and resident services Exposure to multiple senior living operating models and service levels Structured learning modules and milestone assessments throughout the program Opportunities to participate in cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives Career placement consideration based on demonstrated readiness, business needs, geographic flexibility, and position availability Location and Host-Site Placement This position is part of our Executive Director-in-Training program and will be based at one of our designated host communities within the Dallas–Fort Worth or Houston market.
  • Host-site placement will be determined based on current business needs, available training opportunities, and the candidate’s home location.
  • Team members must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel to select communities within their assigned host-site market, as needed.

What Success Looks Like Successful EDIT participants will demonstrate the ability to:

  • Build trust with residents, families, employees, and community leaders Make sound, timely, and thoughtful leadership decisions Understand the financial drivers of community performance Lead teams with accountability, professionalism, and compassion Identify operational challenges and participate in developing effective solutions Support occupancy, revenue, service, and employee-retention goals Communicate effectively across departments and levels of leadership Maintain high standards for regulatory compliance, resident experience, and operational execution Accept feedback, apply coaching, and demonstrate measurable professional growth Take increasing ownership of community operations and leadership responsibilities Show readiness to transition into a permanent community leadership position Who This Role Is For We’re looking for experienced, high-potential leaders who are ready to grow into executive responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Leadership, Healthcare Administration, Hospitality, or a related field required Minimum of three years of leadership experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, property management, operations, or another service-focused environment Experience leading teams, managing performance, and driving accountability Strong business acumen with an interest in financial and operational leadership Demonstrated ability to influence others, make decisions, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to build trusted relationships with residents, families, employees, and leadership partners Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to learn operational, financial, payroll, human resources, and resident-management systems Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between designated communities as needed Senior living experience is highly valuable, but leaders from healthcare, hospitality, multifamily, property management, and other complex service environments are encouraged to apply What Sets You Apart You lead with empathy, accountability, and sound judgment You are coachable and actively seek opportunities to grow You are comfortable working both strategically and hands-on You take ownership rather than waiting to be directed You remain calm and solutions-focused when priorities change You understand that strong leadership begins with service You are not above learning any function or supporting any department You are motivated to build a long-term leadership career within senior living You are prepared to relocate for the right leadership opportunity What You’ll Gain A structured pathway into senior living executive leadership Direct exposure to full community operations and P&L performance Executive mentorship from experienced community and regional leaders Hands-on leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility Experience across operations, finance, sales, human resources, compliance, and resident services A deeper understanding of Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care operations Professional coaching, structured feedback, and milestone-based development Career advancement opportunities within a stable and growing organization The opportunity to lead a business while making a meaningful difference in the lives of residents, families, and employees Why This Program This is more than an operations position.

  • It is a structured development program created to prepare IREG’s next generation of senior living leaders.
  • You’ll learn how to lead the entire community—not just one department—while developing the business judgment, financial knowledge, operational discipline, and people-leadership capabilities required of an Executive Director.
  • If you are ready to take the next major step in your leadership career and want to join an organization that invests in developing its future leaders, the EDIT Program offers an exceptional opportunity.
