Orange Coast College (OCC) is seeking an equity-minded individual for a classified management role as a Regional Project Director, Career Education and Grants, as part of the Instructional Services Wing, under the Dean of the Technology & Career Technical Education Division.

Summary

Applies for, plans, organizes, and manages regional projects and Career Education Grants, including Competency-Based Education, Strong Workforce Regional NetLab and CyberPatriot projects, and others as awarded to the CE Division. Provides oversight of regional projects and successful delivery of outcomes and reporting for grants.

Distinguishing Career Features

The Regional Project Director, Career Education Grants is a management position and provides regional leadership and administration of projects funded by various CE grants and categorical funds. Works with internal and external faculty and institutional partners, including other community colleges, businesses, and community organizations, to ensure the projects will be implemented and objectives/outcomes are met and contribute to the enhancement and expansion of Career Education programs at the college. This position reports to the Dean of Innovative Learning and Career Education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides technical assistance to and guides the application process for Career Education regional grants and plans; organizes and manages implementation of grant objectives and projects.
• Responsible for execution and performance of new and existing grant projects; monitors and administers grants through the grant life-cycle.
• Provides leadership for the college's regional projects and supports collaboration with regional partners and state and local initiatives to enhance Career Education and workforce development through strategic planning and related implementation.
• Organizes and coordinates meetings, events, workshops, and facilitates college-wide, crossinstitutional/regional opportunities.
• Develops engagement and outreach materials.
• Prepares and submits grant reports and budgets for secured grants and assigned CE grants; monitors and controls expenditures
• Hires independent contractors, professional experts, and other personnel that may be engaged in various aspects of planned or secured grant-related activities and work.
• Provides data collection assistance and works with the region and state agencies to facilitate the collection and submission of required outcome data.
• Recommends and oversees new grant project/program development to enhance CE programs.
• Hires, oversees, manages, trains, and evaluates independent contractors, part-time staff, and FT staff to implement the work plans of grants.
• Manages the development, coordination, and oversight of processes to ensure grant compliance. Works closely with Grant Monitors.
• Performs other related duties as assigned that support the objective of the position.
• Required to abide by all District policies and procedures, including Board Policy 3050 Code of Professional Ethics.

Education and Experience

• This position requires a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Accounting, IT, Education, or a related field, and five years of related experience, including three years of direct experience in the administration of grants.
