PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

- Credentialing Timeline: 60-90 days
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
- Laceration repair (simple, intermediate, complex suturing or stapling)
- Incision and drainage with packing
- Foreign body removal
- Minor burn management and skin lesion care
- Orthopedic stabilization, splinting, casting, joint reduction
- Diagnostic & point-of-care testing interpretation (X-ray, EKG, rapid labs)
- Epistaxis management (anterior packing, chemical cautery)
- Cerumen impaction removal
- Airway support (nebulizer treatments, initial emergency stabilization)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Board: Board Certified (required)
- Licenses: Active VA License (required)
- DEA: Active DEA Certification (required)
- Certifications: BLS, Board Certified (required)
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in ED/ER, primary care, or urgent care setting
- Other Qualifications: Clean background/no malpractice or license issues; inclusive rates or local candidates only; must report prior BSMH experience
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform laceration repair (simple, intermediate, complex suturing or stapling)
- Manage incision and drainage, foreign body removal, and minor burn care
- Provide orthopedic stabilization including splinting, casting, and joint reduction
- Interpret X-rays, EKGs, and point-of-care laboratory results
