Job description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Emergency Management Manager to join our team in Tampa, FL, 33621. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing emergency management programs that ensure the safety and preparedness of our facility and the surrounding community. If you have a passion for crisis management and a knack for strategic planning, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency management plans and procedures.
  • Coordinate training and drills for staff and community partners to enhance preparedness.
  • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential threats.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for emergency response agencies and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate emergency response efforts, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Prepare and manage the emergency management budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Stay current with local, state, and federal regulations related to emergency management.
  • Lead post-incident reviews to analyze response effectiveness and implement lessons learned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in emergency management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency management principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in managing teams during crises.
  • Certification in emergency management (e.g., CEM, TEM, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and emergency management software.
