Production Supervisor – Food & Beverage Manufacturing

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations within a fast-paced food and beverage production facility. This position is responsible for supervising production employees, achieving safety and quality objectives, meeting production schedules, and ensuring efficient operation of manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong knowledge of food manufacturing, production processes, employee development, food safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and develop production employees across assigned shifts.
• Manage daily production activities to meet safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity goals.
• Ensure production schedules and customer requirements are consistently achieved.
• Monitor production lines, equipment, staffing, and workflow to maximize efficiency.
• Ensure employees follow GMPs, HACCP procedures, food safety standards, and company policies.
• Maintain a safe working environment and promote a strong safety culture.
• Monitor product quality and address deviations or production issues promptly.
• Troubleshoot equipment, process, staffing, and production challenges.
• Partner with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, Sanitation, and Operations leadership.
• Track and communicate production performance, downtime, waste, labor, and other key metrics.
• Conduct employee training, performance coaching, and corrective action when necessary.
• Ensure proper completion of production records, paperwork, and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve productivity, and increase operational efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
• Ensure proper sanitation and housekeeping standards are maintained throughout the production area.
• Communicate shift performance, issues, and priorities during shift changes and management meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Science, Operations, or a related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience considered.
• 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in food, beverage, or consumer products manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes and production operations.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety, and workplace safety requirements.
• Experience supervising hourly production employees in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyze production data and implement corrective actions.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, or operational excellence is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or different shifts as business needs require.
