In addition to day-to-day marketing execution, we’re looking for a strategic team member, who can help identify opportunities to strengthen our presence across today’s evolving digital landscape.

**This is a full-time, non-exempt position based in Spokane, WA and requires in-office work.

  • Working knowledge of major social media platforms and digital content best practices.
  • Basic understanding of email marketing, websites and digital audience engagement.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and translate organizational needs into clear, engaging communications.
  • Comfortable learning new digital platforms, tools and workflows.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing organizational or professional social media accounts.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact or Mailchimp.
  • Experience updating websites using a content management system.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and social media, email or website performance reporting.
  • Basic visual-content editing skills using tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with video content, including preparing or optimizing short-form video for social media.
  • Experience supporting integrated marketing, advertising or audience-growth campaigns.
  • Interest in public media, education, journalism, arts and culture, civic engagement or community storytelling.

Skills & Abilities:

The successful candidate will be:

  • A strong storyteller who can make programs, services and organizational impact relevant and engaging to diverse audiences.
  • Creative and curious, with an interest in testing new ideas and finding fresh ways to connect with people.
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing recurring responsibilities alongside time-sensitive projects and campaigns.
  • Collaborative and able to build productive working relationships across teams.
  • Audience-focused, with an understanding that different platforms and communities require different approaches.
  • Data-informed and interested in using performance metrics to improve content and marketing decisions.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-changing media and digital environment.
  • Committed to the mission and public-service values of KSPS PBS.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Social Media

  • Manage and strategically grow KSPS PBS’s organic social media presence across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and emerging channels.
  • Collaborate with Production and other departments to gather video clips, photos, graphics and other assets for digital distribution.
  • Develop creative concepts and content ideas that promote KSPS PBS programming, community impact, events, educational initiatives and organizational priorities.
  • Write engaging, accessible and mission-aligned social media copy that reflects the KSPS PBS voice and brand.
  • Create engaging, short form vertical videos optimized for social media.
  • Schedule and publish social media content using social media management tools.
  • Help maintain a consistent content calendar across programs, campaigns and organizational initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to respond to timely community conversations, trends and events with relevant KSPS PBS content.
  • Stay current on social media trends, platform changes and emerging opportunities to connect with new and diverse audiences.

Email Marketing

  • Build, format, test and distribute email campaigns and newsletters using Constant Contact or similar platforms.
  • Support the development and ongoing production of KSPS PBS newsletters.
  • Coordinate content from departments across the organization and translate that information into compelling audience-facing stories and calls to action.
  • Assist with improving email templates, audience segmentation, sign-up forms and landing pages.
  • Support strategies to increase newsletter subscriptions, open rates, click-through rates and overall engagement.
  • Develop and test calls to action, audience journeys, landing pages, and other conversion strategies that move audiences from awareness to engagement, participation, streaming, membership, and philanthropic support.

Analytics & Performance

  • Help grow KSPS PBS’s owned and addressable audiences by converting social media followers, website visitors, viewers, event participants, and other audiences into deeper relationships through email subscriptions, registrations, streaming engagement, membership, and other measurable actions.
  • Monitor social media, email and digital content performance and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Track key performance indicators including reach, impressions, video views, engagement, follower growth, email opens, and clicks.
  • Assist with regular performance reporting and provide insights that can improve future content and campaigns.
  • Use audience and campaign data to continually refine content topics, formats, timing and distribution strategies.
  • Support a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement across KSPS PBS marketing channels.

Additional Duties
