Job description

Senior Technical Program Manager (Sr. TPM)

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and we're looking for talented people who want to help.

You'll join a diverse team of data engineers, business intelligence analysts, and data scientists, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (Sr. TPM) to join our Material Optimization team. This role will drive high-visibility, large-scale, innovative system solutions for our AIS supply chain systems used to fulfill server and networking racks globally. As the Sr. TPM, you will act as the business leader to identify improvements for AIS Supply Chain systems, perform A/B Analysis to Best In Class Systems, identify system requirements, align success metrics, drive change management, and partner with Data Engineering teams. You will drive delivery of large-scale system improvements and lead end-to-end technical program management to transform our supply chain systems.

In this role, you'll have the freedom to think big and challenge the status quo. We encourage innovative thinking and experimentation with best in class systems and solutions. You'll have the opportunity to shape the future of AWS's infrastructure delivery by implementing revolutionary solutions that operate at unprecedented scale.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical program management experience, with a background in electronic manufacturing supply chains and experience driving supply chain transformations E2E. You should have a proven ability to drive complex cross-functional initiatives and experience partnering with data engineering teams to deliver impactful results. This role offers an opportunity to significantly impact AIS's global supply chain efficiency and effectiveness through innovative technical solutions, working at the forefront of cloud infrastructure technology.

Key job responsibilities:

  • Lead technical program management for data platform and pipeline integrations working closely with data engineering teams, external partners, and business stakeholders.
  • Drive end-to-end project execution including scoping innovative solutions, solution design, user acceptance testing, and implementation, and post launch improvements.
  • Manage change across multiple stakeholder groups including material business owners, external partners, and AIS supply chain system users.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, identify dependencies, manage risks, and drive resolution of complex issues.
  • Partner with data engineering and business intelligence teams to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into data solutions to ensure successful launches.
  • Lead executive communications and status reporting to senior leadership.

A day in the life:

  • Identify, scope, and lead internal and external strategies to improve supply chain visibility and data quality.
  • Lead internal and external integrations to create a real-time digital core of our supply chain.
  • Perform extensive research on best in class solutions, perform A/B analysis, and own E2E strategy for improving external supplier data.

About the team:

The AIS Material Optimization team is at the forefront of transforming how AWS delivers cloud infrastructure at global scale. Our mission is to transform traditional supply chain operations through innovative automation solutions, enabling AWS to meet the ever-growing demands of cloud computing with unprecedented speed, accuracy, and reliability.

We are a diverse and dynamic team of builders, innovators, and problem solvers who thrive on tackling complex challenges. Our culture is rooted in Amazon's Leadership Principles, with a particular emphasis on Customer Obsession, Bias for Action, and Think Big. We believe that the best solutions come from collaborative thinking and diverse perspectives, which is why we foster an environment where team members are encouraged to challenge the status quo and bring bold ideas to the table.

Our team sits at a unique intersection of systems development and real-world operations, partnering closely with software development teams, supply chain experts, external partners, and business stakeholders to design, integrate, and launch solutions that impact millions of AWS customers.

Diverse Experiences:

Amazon values diverse experiences. Even if you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasn't followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don't let it stop you from applying.

Work/Life Balance:

We value work-life harmony. Achieving success at work should never come at the expense of sacrifices at home, which is why we strive for flexibility as part of our working culture. When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there's nothing we can't achieve in the cloud.

Inclusive Team Culture:

Here at AWS, it's in our nature to learn and be curious. Our employee-led affinity groups foster a culture of inclusion that empower us to be proud of our differences. Ongoing events and learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (diversity) conferences, inspire us to never stop embracing our uniqueness.

Mentorship and Career Growth:

We're continuously raising our performance bar as we strive to become Earth's Best Employer. That's why you'll find endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship and other career-advancing resources here to help you develop into a better-rounded professional.
