Recreation Assistant
Job Summary:
Rego Park Health Care is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Recreation Assistant to join our team in Queens, New York. As a Recreation Assistant, you will play a vital role in planning and implementing recreational activities for our residents, promoting a healthy and engaging lifestyle. Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and lead recreational activities, such as games, arts and crafts, movies, and special events, to promote socialization and community building among residents
Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement programs that cater to diverse interests and abilities
Maintain a safe and welcoming environment, ensuring that all activities are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures
Assist with daily living activities, such as meal delivery, transportation, and escort services, as needed
Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues to build trust and respect
Keep accurate records of activities, attendance, and resident feedback to inform program development and evaluation
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
1 year of experience in a similar role or related field
Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
