Outpatient Radiologic Technologist Job Description Job Title Outpatient Radiologic Technologist Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiologic Technologist for an outpatient clinic in Chico, California. This role involves performing a variety of diagnostic X-ray procedures on an outpatient population, operating advanced imaging equipment, and ensuring accurate image processing and documentation. The successful candidate will also provide essential basic patient care under the supervision of a clinic nurse, including vital sign assessment, specimen collection, and assisting clinicians. This position requires a professional who can work independently while maintaining a high standard of patient care and operational efficiency. The role may also involve floating to the Main Radiology department as needed. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures for various body parts, including chest, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, knee, foot, and ankle. Operate and maintain X-ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Process and accurately document all imaging procedures and patient data into the PACS system. Provide basic patient care under the supervision of a clinic nurse, including obtaining vital signs, placing patients in exam rooms, and preparing patients for clinician evaluation. Obtain specimens, including performing blood draws, if qualified. Assist clinicians during patient examinations and procedures. Ensure the imaging area is orderly, clean, and well-stocked with necessary supplies and equipment. Float to the Main Radiology department as needed to support departmental operations. Required Qualifications Current full Certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) issued by the California Department of Health Services. Current ARRT licensure. Current California issued Fluoroscopy Permit. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferred Qualifications Previous travel healthcare experience. Experience with EPIC EMR system. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in diagnostic X-ray imaging techniques and patient positioning for various anatomical regions. Competence in operating and troubleshooting X-ray equipment. Strong understanding and experience with PACS for image processing and documentation. Ability to perform basic patient care tasks, including vital signs, patient preparation, and specimen collection (including venipuncture). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration. Ability to work independently at a level not requiring direct supervision. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
