Job description

AmeriCorps Math Fellow Organization:

  • Blueprint Schools Network Program: AmeriCorps Math Fellows Program Term of Service: One Academic School Year Position Location: NW DC Grade Level: High School About Blueprint Schools Network & The Role At Blueprint Schools Network, we believe that every student possesses incredible potential that deserves to be fully realized through high-quality, personalized instruction.
  • As an AmeriCorps Math Fellow , you won’t just support students—you’ll help expand access to high-quality math instruction for young people who deserve every opportunity to succeed.
  • Along the way, you’ll build the skills, experience, and confidence to become an exceptional educator and community leader.
  • As a Fellow, you will deliver intensive, small-group math instruction during the school day, working directly with students to build their confidence, strengthen their foundational math skills, and help them reach their full potential.
  • You will receive structured onboarding, regular 1-on-1 coaching, collaborative lesson planning, and whole-group professional development throughout the program year.

This is practice-based learning at its best:

  • you grow as an educator in real time, backed by a supportive professional network.
  • Real service.
  • Real students.
  • Real results.
  • Why This Role Matters The opportunity gap is real—and Fellows help close it.
  • Far too many students—disproportionately those from historically under-resourced communities—move through school without receiving the rigorous, personalized math support they need to build lasting confidence and academic momentum.

The effects compound:

  • students who fall behind early are less likely to access advanced coursework, post-secondary opportunities, and economic mobility.
  • Blueprint Math Fellows serve at exactly this inflection point.
  • By providing daily, intensive small-group instruction, Fellows accelerate learning, rebuild academic confidence, and help students access the full promise of their education.
  • The impact isn't abstract—it is measurable, and it belongs to you.
  • Term Options & National Service Benefits AmeriCorps service comes with a bi-weekly living allowance rather than a salary or hourly wage over the term of service (academic school year).
  • Within each region, the final living allowance falls within a specific band determined by the local school/program day schedule and average daily on-site service hours.

Living stipend band ranges (for school day schedules of 6 hours or more) per region for 2026-2027 School Year are:

  • • Washington, DC: $25,000 to $30,500 (prorated based on start/end date and schedule) * Living Stipend: Living allowances are paid out in equal bi-weekly installments across the active term of service.

Total stipend amounts may be adjusted for members starting after the official program launch date based on remaining pay periods. In addition to the living stipend, Blueprint AmeriCorps Math Fellows that meet AmeriCorps service hour requirements and remain in good standing are eligible for an end-of-term living allowance balance aligned with their AmeriCorps slot. • Three-Quarter Time (1,200 service hours):

  • $1,000 • Half-Time (900 service hours): $500 Note: The majority of service hours are completed through direct tutoring services provided to students during the school day. Remaining service hours are earned through professional development and volunteer activities . ** End-of-Term Living Allowance Balance: End-of-term living allowance balance disbursement upon completing all required service hours while remaining in good standing. Full details regarding Blueprint’s living stipend and End of Year Completion Bonus are provided to candidates during the recruitment process.
