Quality Engineer

Azusa Solutions is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team of talented consultants. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company comprised of highly qualified, highly impactful, and multi-talented individuals.

This position supports IT systems for the New York City Department of Social Services (DSS)/Information Technology Services (ITS). The ITS Project Quality Assurance Team integrates all technical and quality assurance aspects of DSS projects, including planning, implementation, and assessment. This includes the process of auditing and analyzing the systems which produce web-based and mobile applications in order to improve their functionality and add value to the users of the application along with minimizing the processing times for reporting. The Quality Assurance Engineer ensures that the application’s features and functions are defect-free and conform to the highest quality industry standards.

Eligibility:

*Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position at this time.

*Candidates must live within commuting distance to the five Boroughs of New York City.

*Candidates must be able to work on-site in or near the Brooklyn, NY area.

*Candidates must be prepared to provide a minimum of 2 professional references and at least one within the last 24 months

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs automation, design, implementation and verification of the application’s features and functionality.
• Work directly with Business Users, UI/UX Designers, Software Developers, Database Engineers and Infrastructure teams to ensure the quality of the applications are maintained at the highest standards and matched to the business specifications.
• Identify business requirements and translate them into Test Cases and create relevant Automation Scripts for application enhancements. Execute triage sessions to prioritize issues found in QA and UAT.
• To ensure that the application is defect free by creating and executing automation scripts and periodic checks as part of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD). Regression test scenario creation.
• Create and maintain an automation framework using best practices using Selenium Webdriver, RestAssure and Page object model.
• Create and manage performance test scripts using Jmeter. Access the performance of various DSS applications with an objective to measure and improve DSS application’s response time and performance. Identif7y API connection and response times. Analysis of bottlenecks in applications and web solutions. Calculate virtual users needed for accurate coverage of userbase interactions.
• Create database queries to get the required results from various DSS databases and ensure data accuracy is maintained at 100%.
• Ensure Web-Application and Mobile Applications are maintained at DSS standards including security, and cross browser accessibility.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

A minimum of 4 years of experience with the following skill sets:

• Business/Quality Analysis tools such as: AZURE, Zephyr, JIRA, Balasamiq & MS Visio.
• Writing complicated queries in MS SQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server.
• Creating, executing and managing Automation Scripts using Selenium Webdriver, JAVA, MAVEN, TestNG
• IDE, Postman, RestAssure, LOG4J, JMeter, etc.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field
