Part Time Caregiver
Provide a caring and nurturing environment for the children throughout the After School "Fit for the Future" Program hours (3:00pm mandatory to 6:00pm). All 21st CCLC Caregivers must be on site by 3:00pm. 21st CCLC Caregiver will actively monitor all "Fit for the Future" students assigned to their care, in 21st CCLC site. Funded by the 21st Century Community Learning Center program administered by the US Department of Education.
Educational Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to work and to serve as a positive role model for children, exercising responsibility at all times
- Appropriate proficiency in basic communication/writing techniques to provide the necessary services
- Constructive and cooperative attitude toward the duties of the caregiver, the school and the students
- Basic use of computer and other essential office equipment, supplies and materials
- Familiarity with school community
Major Responsibilities and Duties
1. Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, board policy and 21st CCLC program guidelines.
2. Prepare hands-on and age-appropriate activities for students in the After School "Fit for the Future" program.
3. Work with individual students and/or small groups in structured activities.
4. Supervise students at all times between 3:00pm to 6:00 pm both inside and outside the program areas.
5. Ensure that all 21st CCLC students remain inside designated 21st CCLC sites, until picked up by authorized pick up.
6. Maintain a neat and orderly working area.
7. Submit daily attendance of 21st CCLC students to the Site Facilitator/Eleyo or Attendance assistant by 3 pm.
8. Keep daily restroom logs/records and prepare any other information requested.
9. Prepare program incident/accident reports needed and advise parents of such reports.
10. Participate in annual mandatory program trainings and monthly meetings assigned by Texas ACE Administrator.
11. Maintain good work habits through timeliness and low absenteeism.
12. Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by program 21st CCLC Site Facilitator and Administration as assigned.
Work Conditions
Read and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and in writing). Maintain emotional control under stress. Ability to see, hear, play and interact with the program students. Able to stand at least four (4) hours a day/run after a student, if necessary. Show affection for all children in their care. Exposure to heat, cold and dusty working conditions. Some bending, lifting and stooping while performing job related functions.
Terms of Employment
Wage / Hour Status: Non Exempt
Rate of Pay: $12.00 / hour
Minimum Work Days: Estimated 10 to 15 hours / week
