ABOUT THE ROLE

A growing professional services organization is seeking a senior accounting professional to join its internal Corporate Accounting/Controller organization. This is an internally focused technical accounting position responsible for researching complex accounting matters, developing and defending accounting conclusions, and leading projects from initial analysis through implementation. The role is highly remote, with limited onsite expectations for candidates in preferred markets and an annual team gathering.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Research new and evolving U.S. GAAP requirements and assess their impact on the organization.
• Evaluate complex accounting matters and develop well-supported technical accounting positions and memoranda.
• Present accounting conclusions to senior leadership, external auditors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Lead accounting activities related to M&A and other strategic transactions.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance global accounting policies and procedures.
• Provide technical accounting guidance to Tax, FP&A, General Ledger, Financial Reporting, and other internal teams.
• Oversee complex areas including equity, stock-based compensation, and leases while identifying opportunities to improve related processes.
• Partner with financial reporting teams to support accurate GAAP-compliant reporting across global entities.
• Coordinate technical accounting support during audits and respond to external auditor inquiries.
• Independently manage accounting projects from research and planning through implementation and completion.
• Supervise and develop direct reports while coordinating shared resources across the broader accounting organization.
• Identify and implement process improvements that increase scalability across the controllership function.
