Assists supervising kitchen activities at a self-contained, full kitchen service school location. Prepares and cooks meals in large quantities for various school sites. Participates in maintaining an inventory of food, determining quantity of food required, and making the appropriate orders. Maintains food service records in compliance with state and federal requirements. Performs a variety of food preparation duties according to planned menus, recipes, and the number of persons to be served.

This position represents the third level in the food service career ladder. To advance to Assistant Supervisor II, prospective incumbents will perform these and related duties at a large secondary school serving multiple sites. To advance to Supervisor prospective incumbents require additional background to integrate food service activities in an industrial/institutional kitchen environment. Education and Experience: High School diploma plus post high school course work in meal planning, nutrition, sanitation, business administration, cafeteria management dietetics or related field. Additional experience may substitute for education. Requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in institutional food service and cooking. Licenses and Certificates: TB Test clearance, Criminal Justice Fingerprint clearance, and valid Driver's license.
The District will contribute towards health benefits on a prorated basis (based on employee's work year and hours assigned). The benefit package includes options for medical, dental and vision. Medical plan options include Kaiser, Western Health Advantage and Sutter Health Plus. $10,960 per year for Employee-only medical benefit selection. $13,000 per year for Employee+1 or Family medical benefit selection.
