Pools Supervisor
The Pools Supervisor oversees the daily operations, staffing, safety, programming, and facility conditions of assigned City swimming pools, splash pads, and aquatic facilities. The position ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality aquatic programs and services; compliance with applicable health and safety requirements; appropriate water quality and facility standards; and effective supervision and development of aquatics personnel.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Aquatics Superintendent. This position exercises direct supervision over assigned non-permanent aquatics personnel.
Duties and responsibilities include overseeing daily operations of assigned aquatic facilities and supervising assigned personnel, monitoring compliance with City policies and aquatic safety standards, coordinating emergency preparedness, overseeing the delivery of aquatic programs and services, monitoring pool water quality and aquatic facility operating conditions, assisting with development and monitoring of assigned operating budgets, maintaining records, responding to questions and complaints, and performing all other duties and tasks as assigned.
Indoor and outdoor work with some exposure to physical, ergonomic, or emotional hazardous environment.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of relevant experience. Preferred qualifications include one (1) year of experience as a lifeguard and swimming instructor, one (1) year of experience teaching and leading aquatic programs/classes, one (1) year of supervisory experience, Starguard Instructor, American Red Cross LGI or its equivalency, Starfish Aquatics Instructor, American Red Cross WSIT or its equivalency, Aquatic Facility Operator from National Recreation and Parks Association, Certified Pool Operator from National Pool and Hot Tub Alliance, and a valid and unrestricted Arizona Class D Driver License.
