Director of Business Development (DBD) @ Landmark Hospitals
Landmark Hospitals is expanding our team and seeking a results-driven, relationship-first Director of Business Development (DBD) to build our referral pipeline into our long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) in Columbia, Missouri.
This is a hunter-and-farmer role: you'll open doors with hospital case managers, physicians, and discharge planners across the Columbia area, and you'll close by getting the right medically complex patients matched to the right level of care. It's also a leadership role you'll support, coach, and help drive the success of the 34 Clinical Liaisons aligned to the Columbia market, while developing and executing the strategy that grows the market overall.

What You'll Do as a DBD @ Landmark Hospitals
- Own the Columbia market
- Build and manage the Columbia, MO territory, cultivating high-value relationships with physicians, case managers, and administrative and medical leadership at referring hospitals
- Serve as the primary point of contact and educator for referral sources, guiding them through the placement process for patients who need our level of care
- Pre-screen and clinically assess referred patients for appropriateness of care, and coordinate the information and communication needed to facilitate admission
- Conduct facility tours and represent Landmark's hospitals to referral partners and community stakeholders
- Lead the market strategy and team
- Develop and execute a hospital-specific market plan, with clear account-planning and territory-management discipline
- Support, coach, and help onboard the 34 Clinical Liaisons aligned to the Columbia market, helping the team hit its collective referral and admission goals
- Track toward and deliver on defined production and growth goals for the market
- Maintain up-to-date presentations, proposals, and contract materials to support the sales process
- Partner with the Landmark executive team on physician recruitment/retention, marketing initiatives, and new program development
What You'll Need to Become a DBD @ Landmark Hospitals
Required
- 2+ years of outside healthcare-related sales experience with a proven track record in a referral-driven post-acute or healthcare environment
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or informally leading other salespeople or team members
- Must live in or be willing to relocate to the Columbia, MO area
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills, with the discipline to run an efficient, metrics-driven sales process
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across clinical and administrative audiences
- Comfortable interpreting clinical information well enough to advise on patient appropriateness for admission
- Proficient in MS Office and standard web/CRM applications
- Able to travel extensively by car within the market, with valid auto insurance
Preferred
- Professional healthcare license (RN, LPN, RT, PT, OT, or similar)
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, Marketing, or a related field
