Job description
Job Summary: A Laser Operator will read blueprints, drawings, and take measurements to plan and layout procedures. As a successful candidate will be skilled with attention to detail and mechanical aptitude. You are responsible to accurately produce and operate machines, adjusting as required to troubleshoot and maintain quality and production requirements.
Responsibilities:
Able to operate Amada and Bistonic fiber laser machines program machines as required
- Lead team of laser matching operators. Assign work across the team.
- Address machine malfunctions in an efficient and expedited manner
- Work from work order, samples, drawing, written and verbal instruction.
- Consistently monitor quality of product to maintain quality standards.
- Able to load automatic feeder
- Identify parts for inspection - as required (part of the overall quality control process.
- Update travelers and input as required per job
- Maintaining workplace housekeeping to provide a safe, clean work environment.
Essential Functions Physical Requirements to do this job:
- Physical demands (lifting to 30lbs) when needed
- Pushing up to 25lbs to 40lbs max when needed
- Carrying up to 25lbs if needed (distance) 5ft when needed
- Lifting material (40lbs max)
- Walking about 10%
- Stationed about 70%
- Knelling, squatting, bending, when needed 20%
Skills:
- 3+ years lead experience
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Strong communication skills
- experience with ERP systems
- Able to define, evaluate, and discuss quality workmanship related to laser
- Conflict resolution skills
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED,
- Able to use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Must be able to explain processes and problems clearly to resolve problems in a group
- Standing for long times required, repetitive arm motions, frequent lifting with occasional lifting up to 40 pounds
- Demonstrated track record of reliable, dependable attendance; able to work overtime and weekends as required on short notice
- Prior management or leadership experience.
- Experience in a high/low production environment
