Medical Assistant
Volt is immediately hiring for a Medical Assistant in Camillus, NY.
As a Medical Assistant you will:
- Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone in a professional and friendly manner.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate follow-ups.
- Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Verify insurance information and process billing or payment transactions.
- Prepare and organize medical charts and documentation for providers.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence promptly and accurately.
- Assist with basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and sterilizing equipment.
- Support physicians and nurses with administrative tasks as needed.
This is a full-time opportunity. Monday - Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical office administration preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is a plus.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards.
Pay rate: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour
