Principal, IT Application Architect

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Digital Application Architect to lead the strategy, design, governance, and evolution of enterprise digital customer experience platforms. This role serves as the architectural authority across multiple web, eCommerce, customer engagement, and digital platform initiatives, ensuring technology solutions align with business objectives and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

The successful candidate will provide end to end architecture leadership across application development, cloud platforms, integrations, security, observability, and operational support. This individual will work closely with executive stakeholders, product teams, engineering leaders, and external partners to define technology roadmaps, establish architectural standards, and drive digital transformation initiatives that improve scalability, performance, security, and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end to end architecture for digital customer experience platforms across frontend, backend, integration, cloud, security, data, and observability domains

• Define and govern architecture standards, design patterns, roadmaps, and reference implementations to ensure consistency across platforms and delivery teams

• Partner with executives, business leaders, product owners, and engineering teams to align technology investments with strategic business goals

• Oversee application architecture reviews, solution assessments, and technical governance processes to ensure quality, scalability, and long term sustainability

• Drive cloud modernization, CI/CD improvements, security initiatives, and operational excellence through automation and engineering best practices

• Establish architecture level performance metrics and continuously optimize system availability, deployment efficiency, application performance, and customer experience outcomes

• Provide leadership and technical guidance across multiple development teams, vendors, and offshore resources while ensuring timely delivery of critical initiatives

• Support digital transformation efforts through roadmap planning, platform modernization, technical debt reduction, and enterprise integration strategies

Key Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise application development, architecture, software engineering, or digital platform leadership roles

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline

• Proven experience designing and governing enterprise architecture strategies, application roadmaps, and digital transformation initiatives within complex organizations

• Strong experience with Java based technologies including Spring, Hibernate, and JPA

• Hands on experience supporting modern web applications using JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, CSS3, SASS, and related frontend technologies

• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager and enterprise content management platforms

• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services including EC2, S3, ECR, containerization, and cloud architecture best practices

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Maven, Gradle, code quality tools, and DevSecOps methodologies

• Knowledge of observability and monitoring solutions including Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, AppDynamics, Datadog, or similar technologies

• Experience working with REST APIs, system integrations, data management practices, and enterprise application ecosystems

• Strong background working in Agile environments with cross functional teams, vendors, architects, business stakeholders, and product leadership

• Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and executive engagement skills

• Demonstrated ability to lead global or distributed teams while influencing technical and business decision making

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting large scale customer facing digital platforms, web ecosystems, or eCommerce environments

• Experience collaborating within multinational organizations and multicultural teams

• Knowledge of enterprise security frameworks, compliance standards, and secure software development practices

• Experience managing architecture governance, technology standards, and open source software compliance programs

• Exposure to customer experience platforms, CRM ecosystems, and digital engagement technologies
