The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated P&C Policy and Performance Underwriter Lead Auto or Homeowners.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in our San Antonio, TX; Plano, TX; Colorado Springs, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL offices. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What You'll Do:
As P&C Policy and Performance Underwriter Lead you will identify, develop, implement, and manage personal lines P&C Underwriting policies and processes to achieve enterprise priorities. You will partner with internal stakeholders to maintain P&C Underwriting policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with state regulations. You will ensure implementation of complex projects throughout a line of business or specific area.
What You Have:
- Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
- 8 years of experience in Property & Casualty, Project Management, Process Engineering, Business Process or Risk Management, to include direct experience executing underwriting processes and/or defining underwriting procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of relevant industry practices, insurance policy contracts, trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in leading efforts to interpret and apply P&C regulations to mitigate underwriting compliance risk.
- Experience in making data driven decisions to create actionable recommendations for performance improvement.
- Experience in presenting analysis and findings to varying levels of management and key stakeholders to gather support for business initiatives and influence strategy.
- Experience researching, developing, writing, and editing operational procedures and documents
- Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Access.

- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate modeled outputs into actionable insights
- Experience applying product management principlessuch as balancing growth, profitability, and customer experienceto underwriting or insurance products, including influencing product design and underwriting guidelines
- Track record of successfully leading cross-functional initiatives by influencing stakeholders to implement strategic changes and drive measurable outcomes
- Proven ability to connect macro-level market insights to tactical underwriting solutions
- Proven experience working with and a strong understanding of Guidewire systems, including PolicyCenter.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $114,080-$218,030.
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
