Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Programmer with strong expertise in Microsoft Power Platform development. The ideal candidate will design, develop, integrate, secure, and maintain scalable Power Platform solutions while working closely with business stakeholders, architects, project managers, and development teams.

The role will also involve mentoring developers, supporting governance and compliance initiatives, and evaluating emerging Power Platform capabilities.

Key Responsibilities Application Development & Solution Design

• Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including:
  • Canvas Power Apps
  • Model-driven Power Apps
  • Power Pages
  • Power Automate cloud flows and approvals
  • On-premises and cloud relational database management systems (RDBMS)
  • Microsoft Dataverse data models, business rules, and security roles
  • Power BI reports and dashboards
• Translate business and program requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Develop reusable components, patterns, and templates aligned with organizational standards.
• Provide knowledge transfer and training to in-house developers.
• Troubleshoot and optimize Power Platform applications and solutions.

Integration & Architecture

• Integrate Power Platform solutions with:
  • Microsoft 365 services
  • Dynamics 365
  • Azure services
  • External systems through connectors and APIs
• Design integrations following best practices for performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Develop and maintain data integrations between Power Platform, databases, APIs, and enterprise applications.

Governance, Security & Compliance

• Implement role-based security and access controls.
• Develop and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies.
• Support Power Platform environment strategies and governance.
• Ensure solutions meet applicable security, privacy, accessibility, and regulatory requirements.
• Support audits, technical documentation, architecture reviews, and compliance activities.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, architects, and developers.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and citizen developers.
• Participate in solution reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
• Assist teams in identifying technical risks and developing appropriate solutions.
• Support multiple projects within a shared-services environment.

Innovation & Emerging Technologies

• Evaluate and pilot new Microsoft Power Platform features and capabilities.
• Explore emerging automation and AI capabilities.
• Experience with Copilot Studio is a plus.
• Assist with conversational AI solutions and virtual agents.
• Support use cases such as knowledge retrieval, case intake, internal support, and workflow automation.

Mandatory Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including:
  • Power Apps
  • Power Automate
  • On-premises and cloud RDBMS
  • Microsoft Dataverse
  • Power BI
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience with:
  • Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
  • Power Platform environment strategies
  • Dev/Test/Production environments
  • Deployment and troubleshooting
  • Security and role-based access control
  • SQL queries
• 5+ years of experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical designs.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects within a shared-services environment.
• Strong understanding of Power Platform architecture, development, integration, security, and governance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio or other conversational AI platforms.
• Experience working in government, public-sector, or regulated environments.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Familiarity with Dynamics 365.
• Familiarity with Azure services such as:
  • Azure Logic Apps
  • Azure Functions
  • Azure API Management
  • Other Azure integration services
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for Power Platform.
• Microsoft certifications such as:
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect
  • Other relevant Microsoft certifications
