We are looking for a compelling leader who has a background in public accounting, an entrepreneurial drive, and a mind for operational effectiveness to join our team as a Controller (to grow into a CFO/COO position). This individual will be responsible for managing the firm's administrative and financial operations as well as to be actively involved in all management operations of the firm. This position will report to the managing partners of the firm.

The Skill Set

• Master's in Business Administration or CPA License preferred.
• Proven experience as controller, firm administrator or operations manager for a CPA firm or similar role in a professional services firm.
• Understanding the needs of the diverse business functions of the firm such as HR, IT, marketing, accounting, office services and client service deliverables.
• Ability to prioritize, plan and implement strategic initiatives and business development.
• Aptitude in decision making and problem-solving.
• Excellent communication, listening and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of and ability to integrate required technology.
• Positive attitude. Great motivational and interpersonal skills.

Within 1 Month, You'll

• Complete new hire orientation, onboarding, and training.
• Begin growing your internal network by meeting with your team, Supervisors, Managers and Partners.
• Supervise all accounting functions and systems.
• Begin familiarizing yourself with daily operations and administrative processes of the following departments: Tax Services, Audit & Assurance Services, and Accounting Services.

Within 3 Months, You'll

• Assess the current state of affairs of the Operations Department.
• Develop a plan to tackle key priorities for this role in the first 12 months.
• Prepare, interpret, and present management and efficiency reports to the Partners.
• Supervise administrative staff as well as physical and remote working facilities.
• Become actively involved in management functions of the firm, meeting regularly with the Partners.

Within 6 Months, You'll

• Formulate an annual budget.
• Be actively involved in hiring admin/operations staff.
• Maintain the firm's insurances and assist in overall firm risk management.
• Manage all office activities and vendor relationships.
• Resolve issues and conflicts as they occur.
• Partner with the Talent team to evaluate compensation and benefits packages.

Within 12 Months, You'll

• Take ownership over the firm's internal technology.
• Lead employees to encourage high performance, dedication and retention.
• Facilitate performance evaluation by analyzing and interpreting firm data and metrics.
• Partner with the Talent team to consistently improve onboarding, orientation, training, and evaluation of staff.
• Partner with the Talent team regarding internal firm communications.

Once fully onboarded, here are a list of this role's full set of responsibilities:

• Lead, manage and hold accountable the administrative team, which is comprised of the accounting, billing and collections, office management/facilities, payroll, front desk and IT functions.
• Collaborate with the Managing partners in strategic planning for the firm
• Manage, monitor, and report on firmwide KPI's
• Project management and reporting for ongoing process improvement
• Manage cash/variation
• Formulates annual budgets, prepares, interprets, and presents management and efficiency reports
• Preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports and analyses
• Collaborating with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes
• Analyzing and reporting cost variances
• Maintains firm's insurances and assists in overall firm risk management, analysis and reporting
• Vendor management
• Partners with Talent team regarding internal firm communications
• Partners with Talent team to evaluate compensation and benefits packages
