Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our surgical services team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a variety of surgical procedures and demonstrate excellent technical skills in the operating room. This role requires strong communication abilities and a commitment to patient safety and care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and management of the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Facilitate a safe and sterile environment through proper decontamination, sterilization processes, and adherence to aseptic techniques.
• Support surgical teams during procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
• Participate in the Universal Protocol (time out) procedure to ensure patient safety.
• Handle and label specimens accurately and according to protocol.
• Follow established guidelines for sharps safety and infection control.
• Provide assistance during various surgical specialties, including general, vascular, orthopedic, and gynecological procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of surgical instruments and technologies, including the use of Da Vinci Xi Surgical System for robotic surgeries.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is required.
• A minimum of three years of experience in surgical technology is preferred.
• Proficient in a wide range of surgical procedures, including but not limited to: gastric bypass, laparoscopic procedures, craniotomy, and total joint replacements.
• Experience with Epic software is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Shift Information

This position will require a mid shift schedule with five 8-hour shifts per week. Weekend and holiday shifts will be part of the rotation, requiring six shifts every eight weeks.

Additional Information

Scrubs will be provided. Local candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility.
