Must Haves: Need a hands-on Business Systems Analyst for a manufacturing company — someone who understands business systems + data + manufacturing operations, rather than a pure IT developer.

The core of the job

The person needs to be able to:

• Administer a QMS — this appears to be the biggest manufacturing-specific piece.
• Work with ERP/MES systems and help improve/configure them.
• Use SQL to pull, troubleshoot and manipulate data.
• Build/maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Understand how different systems integrate/API/data exchange.
• Support PDM/PLM systems.
• Work with users in Quality, Operations and Supply Chain.
• Be comfortable troubleshooting systems, configuring workflows, managing permissions, and documenting processes.

Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Business Systems Analyst is responsible for the administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of enterprise quality and operational systems. This role serves as the primary owner of the Quality Management System (QMS) and Product Data Management (PDM) system, supports the company’s ERP/MES platform, and maintains data integrity and reporting infrastructure across multiple business-critical applications.

The position requires a combination of quality systems expertise, ERP/QMS technical proficiency, and analytical capability to support cross-functional teams and multi-site operations.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into analytical solutions by developing, publishing, and maintaining dashboards and reports supporting quality metrics, supplier performance, production data, and executive KPIs.
• Serve as the primary system administrator and subject matter expert for the company’s QMS across all active modules.
• Configure and maintain QMS module workflows, forms, task profiles, user assignments, permissions, and custom document links.
• Build and maintain QMS reports and dashboards supporting multi-site audit compliance, supplier performance, and quality KPI tracking.
• Collaborate with IT and operations on ERP/MES enhancements, upgrades, and data governance.
• Support integrations between ERP/MES and third-party systems through APIs and other data exchange methods.
• Administer Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, including user access, workflow configuration, folder permissions, and system health.
• Evaluate new tools and system enhancements and provide business cases and implementation recommendations.
• Manage vendor relationships related to business systems and applications.
• Support end users across quality, operations, and supply chain functions.
• Develop and maintain system documentation and user training materials as applicable.
• Support cross-functional quality and operations improvement projects focused on cost reduction, process optimization, and customer satisfaction.
• Participate as a data subject matter expert in support of multi-site audit compliance.
• Travel domestically approximately 10% as necessary.
• Comply with applicable EH&S policies, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions, practices, or environmental concerns to management.
• Follow Product Safety and Quality standards.
• Follow GMP requirements related to food-contact packaging.
• Follow product defense standards and comply with applicable SQF requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience; or 7 years of related professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience with business intelligence and dashboarding tools for data reporting and transformation, such as Power BI or similar platforms.
• Experience working with relational databases for reporting and troubleshooting, including SQL or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with system integration concepts, including APIs and data exchange between enterprise platforms.
• Experience administering a Quality Management System (QMS) in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
• Experience with query development, workflow configuration, and end-user support is preferred.
• Proficiency with VBA, Python, or other scripting languages is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate technical concepts and requirements for non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and support multi-site operations.
