Associate Attorney Role
The Associate Attorney will support the representation of clients in state and federal plaintiff side wage and hour, class, and representative action litigation.
The firm is seeking a Colorado licensed attorney with approximately 1 to 3 years of civil litigation experience. Plaintiff side experience is preferred, but attorneys coming from the defense side will also be considered when they have relevant wage and hour, class action, or employment litigation experience.
Responsibilities include:
• Conduct legal research involving wage and hour, employment, class action, and related litigation matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and discovery responses
• Participate in all phases of state and federal litigation
• Assist with and conduct discovery
• Prepare for and participate in depositions
• Prepare for and appear at court hearings
• Assist with motion practice and litigation strategy
• Communicate with clients regarding active matters
• Collaborate with senior attorneys, partners, and litigation support teams
• Manage multiple matters, deadlines, and competing priorities
• Support cases through discovery, mediation, settlement, and other stages of litigation
Associate Attorney Background Profile
Required
• Active license to practice law in Colorado
• Approximately 1 to 3 years of civil litigation experience
• Employment litigation experience
• Strong legal research and writing abilities
• Experience with civil discovery and motion practice
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
• Ability to travel occasionally for firm events, court proceedings, and other business needs
Strongly Preferred
• Wage and hour litigation experience
• Class action or representative action litigation experience
• Plaintiff side employment litigation experience
• Experience taking or defending depositions
• Courtroom and oral advocacy experience
• Experience handling sophisticated or complex litigation
The firm will consider attorneys coming from the defense side when their experience translates into wage and hour and class action work. Traditional workers’ compensation experience is not considered closely transferable to this practice.
Remote Work
This is a fully remote position. Candidates must be admitted to the Colorado Bar but do not need to reside in Colorado.
The firm is developing its Colorado market virtually and may establish a physical office in the future, although there is currently no established timeline.
