Duration: approx.. 6-8 months
Location: California; primarily remote with periodic on-site visits required
The ideal candidate will bring strategic procurement experience from a large, complex organization, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, diagnostics, research, or laboratory supply industries. This individual should be comfortable working independently, navigating consensus-driven environments, managing multiple priorities, and developing sourcing projects from concept through implementation.

What’s a typical day as Procurement Sourcing Manager – Life Science? You’ll be:
- Leading the development and execution of system-wide category strategies for life sciences procurement.
- Implementing strategic sourcing initiatives, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
- Analyzing category spend, leveraging annual spend, and modifying strategies to meet changing business needs.
- Developing and maintaining category-specific knowledge, including best practices and industry trends.
- Participating in the development and tracking of a sourcing/projects pipeline and forecasting cost savings.
- Engaging with stakeholders across multiple locations and traveling to various campus sites as needed (approximately 20% travel).
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management, ideally in the life sciences sector.
- Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage business metrics for strategic decision making.
- Are adept at contract negotiation, supplier management, and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
- Can work autonomously while collaborating with system-wide teams and stakeholders.
- Are willing and able to travel to as required (around 20% travel).
- Must reside in the state of California and be willing to commute onsite when needed.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field business, supply chain, life sciences, engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, supply chain, supplier management, or related enterprise experience.
